Hello all, does anyone know of a site that shows EV friendly Hotels? trying to plan a weekend to Cleveland Ohio and it's looking pretty ugly trying to find locations that I can park overnight and charge. I only found a few places and of course they are the most expensive hotels.

PlugShare has a lodging filter.

PlugShare has a filter option to only show charging locations with Lodging.

Hotels.com has a filter on their app also. For example, in Tampa it shows more hotels than plugshare. Personally I like plugshare review structure but it may miss locations.

I would call and verify with the front desk before going with something off of Hotels.com and add the location on plugshare if it is new.

Yeah, Thats the thing with plugshare, its all crowdsourced info. So if someone doesn't add it to the app, it won't show up.

The other thing with plugshare, is you gotta check the actual info on a charger at a hotel. Some of them if you actually look into it, came across one that someone added saying there is a 110v outlet that reaches to a parking spot.

Also get a Tesla Tap if you do not have one. It lets you use Tesla lvl 2 destination chargers.

He could stay in the more expensive hotels for the price of the Tap. ??

Good info here. I am surprised that the major hotel chains haven't put this in their apps / websites.

+1000 on calling to verify. We stayed in a hotel 3 years ago, had chargers. They didn't work, hadn't been used in years. Persistent desk clerk got 1 working while they determined next steps (obsolete defunct network taking over by ChargePoint, had to replace chargers eventually). This year they had brand new chargers.

On my road trip to San Diego (and back) from Denver, I used PlugShare to help find hotels. In the end, 3 hotels that I used had charging. Here are my experiences.

1. Cedar City, UT, Best Western - One J1772 plug that was in use all night by a Tesla. It was free and I got a few minutes in the morning.

2. Palace Station, Vegas - 4 J1772 ChargePoint chargers. They were free but you had to ask a valet to open the gate (this was mentioned on PlugShare). When I got there, a Tesla was charging at one. But over the next 3 nights, I was the only one using the chargers. The charging was free, but you had to have a ChargePoint account to unlock the charger.

3. On the way back at Beaver, UT - Technically, they did not have a hotel charger, but the EA station was in the parking lot. The hotel receptionist made sure we got a room that overlooked the charger. I let it charge up tp ~95% in the evening before unplugging. The next morning while I had breakfast, I plugged it back in to get up to 100% before we hit the road.

Calling the hotel can be a mixed bag. Sometimes you have trouble finding someone on duty who knows anything beyond where it is. Plugshare is a good backup. I recommend using plugshare then calling to confirm what plugshare said and answer any remaining questions. The hotel may also be able to reserve the charger for you if they know you are coming.

Thank you all for the input. After looking at everyones suggestions, I've come to the conclusion that as large a city that Cleveland is, there is a horrible network of hotels that support EV and with the limited choices I may just have to use my gas vehicle for this trip

I'm a little confused - I'm looking at Plugshare and there appears to be a bunch of hotels with at least wall outlets, plus there are a couple of fast chargers nearby. I mean I know it's not as nice as a 6+ kW level 2, but overnight on 120v should net you 30+ miles, and a quick stop at a DCFC should top you up to 80%.
