Hi - I am on Sync 4 in my July 2022 MME AWD EXTD. I normally use Ford's navi systems but have noticed that although my iPhone is connected via Carplay for music and contacts I cannot find Apple Maps anywhere which is a nuisance as I find sometimes it is more accurate than Ford. It certainly used to appear when my iPhone was connected and I have used it in the past - is this a general thing or am I just lucky?

Just out of curiosity, what happens on the CarPlay screen if you manually select Apple Maps on your iPhone?

Make sure Apple Maps is enabled in Carplay (iPhone settings-general-Carplay-car-customize). Apple Maps is one of the items you should not be able to delete but just in case ..

And try activating Apple maps from the iPhone while Carplay is running (do this while stopped please) as @ReverendPete said.

Correct, you can uninstall Apple Maps from the phone. Apple had me do that to try to fix the wildly off base maps I have.

As Sherlock Holmes said to Dr Watson - " this is a two pipe problem!" I have deleted/reinstalled Apple Maps from my iPhone and deleted/reinstalled my MME from Carplay on my iPhone. Same result - no matter what I do Apple Maps no longer appears as an option on the MME screen. It used to work well when required so maybe an update has caused this? I am currently on 6.3.0. I have attached shots of my iPhone and MME screens.

Many thanks for your help so far guys.

LOL I wish I could remove Messages from CarPlay. When I am driving, I don’t want stupid text messages or notifications about them. ??

To be clear, apple maps is missing in carplay, not just in the sync apps drawer? It's never been a separate item in sync, you need to be in carplay for it to be available.

My guess is your phone got the UK privacy updates. Check under location services to see if maps is allowed. I know there was privacy updates for the UK that was going to cause issues. (I'll see if I can find something on my end about it)

To add, because the phone icon and music icon are highlighted a color and the carplay icon isn't, your phone isn't connected via carplay, it's connected via bluetooth. You can just press the carplay icon on the screen you shared and that hopefully will do it.

I checked in Location Services and maps is allowed.

I think you got it? After deleting/reinstalling from scratch - bingo - Carplay Connected is showing and so is Apple Maps.,
Many thanks to you and everyone. I do love this forum.

Your screenshot for your vehicle display indicates that CarPlay is not connected at all. I feel like I'd be looking in that direction first.
