KEY POINTS
KEY POINTS
- There's an option on the upcoming Ford Mustang Mach-E for the all-electric vehicle to broadcast engine noises into the cabin.
- The engine noises sound like they're coming from the front of the vehicle but it's actually coming from the car's speakers.
- Ford did this to make the new all-electric crossover feel more like a Mustang.
- It's electronically generated but it's based on vehicle torque -- "It's taking a look at your incoming torque and power signals, speed and it's doing the math to say we should generate this frequency at this loudness."
