Automatic Door Unlock

When I approach my “sleeping“ MME, it much more consistently wakes up now, but the only door that I can open with my fob in my pocket! At that point, is the driver’s door.

Is there any way to make the car allow any door to be opened once it has awakened?

I assume you mean the passengers can’t get in. You may have it setup to only unlock the drivers door (2-stage unlocking). I can’t remember is there’s a setting to change on the screen but this is what the manual says.

On a side note, the section that’s says the system might not work if the remote is stationary for a min is interesting. Deactivation of the fob would be a fantastic feature.

There is a setting under door locks that allow you to limit the unlock feature to the drivers door or change it to unlock all of the doors at the same time. This is an old feature and is considered a safety feature for people who do not want to provide a way for strangers to follow them into the car in the dark.

Here’s how mine works:
With keyless enabled and the fob in my pocket, the only door that will open initially is the one I’m standing at. It can be any of the 4, but only that one. Once I open that door, the other 3 can be opened. I suspect this is what’s going on with the original post of this thread.

I drove my wife nuts using this feature. I’d purposely wait for her to try to open the passenger door (and fail) before opening my door. She’d complain and I’d tell her she must have been doing something wrong. So she tells me “next time, you try to open my door first!” So I did - with the fob in my pocket, I opened her door. She still doesn’t know what’s going on! ?

On the other hand, if I hit the unlock button on the fob, all 4 doors will unlock and any can be opened. This is because of the “unlock all doors” setting.

I suspect that if I turned off the “unlock all doors setting”, the other 3 doors would not unlock after opening the initial one, using keyless (walk-up unlock). I haven’t tested this.

There is nothing like this in my manual or as per instructions in vehicle settings. Where are these instructions from?

The PDF manual online. The instructions are a little odd, probably leftover from another ford model. Most settings are found through the SYNC interface anyways.
