when I bought my 2021 explorer it did not come with the card. I was able to get it through menus. Seems like that should be available on the Mach e

TWO KEY FOB technique worked great!! A new update erased my code and I no longer have the card they gave me. You will find the slot in your center console. Start with the car off. Place you key fob in the slot. Hit the start button WITHOUT touching the brake (this turns on full accessory power). Wait 5 seconds, and hit the button again (still no brake)to turn off. Now put your second key in the slot, hit the button (NO BRAKE) and the code appears on your dash. Snap a pic because it doesn’t appear for long. It may be necessary to change the position of the fob ie buttons in or out. I had my buttons facing the plastic, not visible to me. In the video he says to start the car with the second key. That did not work for me. Essentially you’re just doing the same process two times. Put the key in, turn in accessory. Turn off accessory, and repeat with the second key.

Neat. Maybe someday when my long-scheduled appointment is here to get my second key fob from Ford I'll give this a shot.

Tip - when you buy a Ford with a code, store it your phone directory.

2nd Tip - you can add your own code. One that you can remember. Or, store it in your phone directory.

3rd Tip - put the little card in a safe place in your home, like where you filed your purchase paperwork...

Yeah that’s definitely a different issue. Even though I had my fobs I didn’t know this little trick, and some said it it wasn’t working for them. The video was just a little off. When you finally get your fob it’ll be helpful for you too:) Good luck!

I have the original door code card, and I took a picture of it which I keep in my OneDrive personal vault... just in case.

But this is still a really cool trick so I'm still looking forward to giving it a shot (once I get that second key)!

I had that stupid card in what I thought was a safe place then it was gone! My personalized code was what got erased. Now I’ve created another one and saved the default in my passwords app never to be lost again.

Our dealer posted this video:

I'd bet there is a similar procedure in the Mach-E--I tried the one they mention but without two separate key fobs it didn't work. (No mention in the owner's manual of such a procedure either.)

Mine didn't come with the car either but I was able to get my salesperson to e-mail me the code.

So I just watched a video talking about the importance of setting up your door code. When I went to do it, I realized I didn't have the factory code (no card, no hardcopy manual). I tried the 2 FOB trick but it didn't work. I went to the dealership and they looked up the used car inspection sheet and realized nobody had written it down, so a guy in the parts department came out and hooked up his laptop with FDRS on it and found the code.

The code is on a white sticker on the BCM under the glovebox against the firewall. I have had to get it twice for two different Mach-E's that I needed to set up personal codes for. Neither owner had their code's.
