[off topic] and now they're telling me they don't have any instructions on how to do the glass recall: "the repair procedures are not yety avail. For the glass recalls." [unedited] I dunna... Ford is having a tough time.
Interesting. Seems like BS, since others have already had it done. FWIW, my dealer indicated the recall work would be outsourced to a body shop.

Yeah, they're having it done through their body shop, but they will have a glass company (like Safelite) do the actual labor.

Click on their name on the left side of their post then "Start Conversation". This will let you PM the Ford social media team and they'll take it from there.

From what I can gather based on reports in this thread, and my own experience thus far:

Part # for Right Half Shaft is LJ9Z-3B436-A
Part # for Left Half Shaft is LJ9Z-3B437-A

My noise is heard on the left side, as far as I can tell, while making right turns. They have only replaced 3B436 (right) so far, to no avail. Currently awaiting Ford engineer to get back to them on next steps.

Similar to my experience. I'm now working with the Service Manager and Ford's CX team on this issue. Still assuming a recall will happen at some point given how pervasive this is.

1200 miles, AWD std range premium . I hear a clunking from the front left axle that goes with speed under acceleration with a right hand turn. Sounded like a cv joint to me, so i brought it back and the Dealer said I need a new axle, but they are backorder. Am I an isolated event? Any idea how long till parts become availible?
Mine went in to get it replaced. Evidently the part is on backorder so I am still waiting for the new axle.

Yes - based on what I've read and experienced, unless the dealer happens to have one on the shelf, it will take 2-3 weeks to get one.

Same boat. Mine has been on order since Dec 17th. The dealer has one side, but not the other. No ETA given.

it took them some time to figure out what it was (2 trips in) and then I took in for the glass recall and they ordered the part supposedly was getting it last Friday. Called Monday and they said they would finish by Tuesday night. Called Tuesday and they mentioned they didn't get all of the parts they needed and needed more time. I picked up my car until the part comes in. My Chevy Malibu rental car was not filling my needs anymore.

Oh, and when I picked it up he mentioned that just that day he had another Mach-E driver come in complaining about it (Autonation Bellevue customers). At that time I mentioned that a new recall was surely to come.

is this happening to early production cars or even later ones. Getting me nervous.

I'm not sure. Mine was produced in December 2020 (around 5000 vehicles into the production based on the VIN).

I don’t think you can go by the VIN. Mine was built in late January and the VIN would correspond to about 3600 8300, sequentially.

Mid-January built here. VIN was in the 6000's for me. I think for *the very first group of* actual customer cars the last four of the VINs started with a 5000s # iirc.

*Edited to clarify the very first batch of production cars for real customers
