All,

Charged the Mach E AWD ER to 90% and was showing 228 miles, nipped out on a 10 mile round trip and was showing 215 when i got home. Then this morning i drive 36 miles, mix of A and B roads, stop start stuff nothing unusual and range plummets to 113 miles!!! Anyone else have such a shocking sudden loss of range? Had the car since last May and nver witnessed such a dramatic correction. 5500 miles on the clock, hardly ever use DC chargers and have only charged over 90% about 4 times for long trips.

Was it really cold this morning? Did you blast the heat?

It's a non-issue. GOM (Guess-O-Meter).

It sat over night and cold soaked so the GOM guessed again based on available kW in the pack and your last drive(S) kW usage.

The Trips application will show where your juice went - temp, accessories, hvac etc.

The range calculation varies based on local conditions. You’ll get a more accurate range estimate if you plug a destination into the nav, but it’s still a guess.

I just tell people not to worry about the range calculation. Charge every night, and if you’ve made it there and back before you’re gonna be fine. ?

Mine is doing it too. Temperature just below freezing, and can lose 100 lm (Canadian) after starting nav and going just down the street. Could be the GOM but very annoying and I don’t remember it being this bad

Makes me question if a recent update is to blame? We only do about 40-60 miles per week so may not notice straight away

Keep your right foot off the floor 1/4". It really helps with range.

I thought that was just a go pedal, foot to the floor means go, remove foot one pedal mode means stop

May help to start to understand your consumption numbers during different conditions and forget about the silly GOM that is based on those consumption numbers. In the summer it can be 22 KW/100km and in the winter you can see 33 KW/100km and above. Heavy rain on a divided highway during warm weather was a real shocker for me springing up in the 30's just due to a layer of water on the road. Makes you understand that during trips it is best to have a bit of a reserve to account for unforeseen weather/road conditions. Heavy rain and charging plans changed in a hurry.

Had the mach e for nearly a year, I am awarenof the general fluctuations due to climate conditions etc. This drop was IMO odd as the weather in the UK where I live is fairly consistent at the moment so I wasn't expecting a huge drop in range for no good reason. Did the same trip this morning, no difference to conditions whatsoever and the range depleted as expected in relation to distance driven no massive hit so not sure what went on yesterday.

I have a fob and use Car Scanner to see what’s going on. It does exaggerate SOC on the top side and underestimate it on the bottom. The display and HVB SOC seem to match around 35% +\- . I did get my car to 2% when I wanted to get home and I had a temporary efficiency change (another post) and underestimated charge I’d need, Not recommended and hangs around 5% which made me nervous.

I’d watch “Out of Spec Reviews’ drive 4 trucks to dead and note the difference in warnings et al.

The one thing I missed when looking at an EV is the 20% of the battery you shouldn’t use much, above 90% or below 10%. Still works but I’m counting more on the destination charger than I planned.

Tesla Y owner at work last week stated "I live 30 miles away but today my car showed 38 miles of range lost". Nothing new.

You didn’t happen to use the nav on that last trip (when you don’t, normally)? If I enter a destination, the GOM always drops, sometimes by a ridiculous amount.
