Could be worse. I was in the program, and then must have missed a re-enrollment email somewhere because I lost it. Now ill be waiting forever to get back in ?
Ugh. Noooo! Now I'm wondering if I missed an invitation. That's annoying that they make you re-enroll.

It’s not really a re-enrollment, but they update the T&Cs from time to time and if you don’t login to accept them, you get kicked out.
Just went and checked. Guess they unenrolled me never saw and email. Can't wait for another year goes by and I can get rid of this thing. Having 2 Fords is HORRIBLE.

Which is a great example of how even the vaunted Apple that has been pushing software updates for years still sends them out in waves. I have an iPhone 13 and I was able to download iOS 17 today, but only because I manually checked for updates. Apple was still waiting to notify me or push it to my phone. Yes, I have automatic updates turned on.
That’s the way it should be, automatic in waves but available via manual request. Or announcing that it’s released and rolling out in waves. But I do very much empathize with finding an issue, very glad we have some FoMoCo people in the forum even if it’s not official.

Last week, Ford gave several Mach E and Lightning owners (including me) the opportunity to test BlueCruise 1.3 in Mach Es on Michigan-10 in downtown Detroit.

Ford had wanted to deliver BC 1.3 via Power Ups by now. I can't provide details but I'll just say the phased rollout and testing is working the way it should to make sure that once it reaches general release, BC 1.3 will arrive via safe and reliable PowerUps.
Thanks tons!

Love your well parsed note about the delay. As someone who builds safety-oriented software, and deals with regulators, I'm down with delays. And I know how talking about delays can be .... risky. A very good reason to have a non-Ford employee make a statement. Glad they found a way.

Look forward to the update.

5.1.1 is only an early access update so far, and even then not every EA car has gotten it.
Is that true? If so, the 2021 we bought used was enrolled in EA and apparently still is - updated to 5.1.1 on 9/12. Which, LOL. My professional life involves running prerelease software already, so I didn’t opt in for the 2022 we bought new. But I guess I’ll roll with it on “my” car.

It’s possible it is part of EA, or they are rolling it out to non-EA cars. So far everyone that’s posted in the 5.1.1 thread has been in EA.

That is actually exactly how it works for iOS updates. When an update is first released, people who manually check (and thus self-select) can get it. People who just let their phone tell them when to update won’t get anything for a week or so, at which point it starts being proactively offered. It’s honestly pretty remarkable in both the simplicity and effectiveness: people who want to “risk it” a bit can do so, and nobody who is hesitant is pushed to do an update before there have already been literally millions of successful updates to shake out any big problems.

As much as I do believe my car is a special unique unicorn and the bestest one in the whole world, I think the evidence suggests it’s enrolled in EA like any other recipient of 5.1.1. The alternative explanation is that I got the update more than a week before any other non-EA vehicle.

I got 5.1.1 today. Have we established if this is a precursor to BC1.3?

So this was the original, official thread by Ford. Note the date of this post. ? Taking an hour long drive next weekend to see a friend's new Rivian. BC 1.3 would have been nice.

Bring on the excuses.
