Let me start off by saying I own a 2021 Premium AWD Ext Mach E and I love the car. I ordered another Mach E in Sept 22. As we all know, over the past 9 months, Ford has dropped the price of Mach E and presently today(6/1/23) you can go online a get a Premium RWD Extended Range for MSRP base of $46,995. My car that I ordered 9 months ago to be delivered has a MSRP base $50,995. When I asked Ford why there was a difference between online new builds and my previously order car they stated because it comes with Blue Cruise. I asked them to remove it because I didn’t want it, I didn’t order it (apparently it was standard when I ordered the car). Ford told me they can’t remove it. SO in other words, the price reductions published throughout the media comes with conditions and you might not receive the lowest price on a previously ordered cars. Be Careful and check the invoice closely. I canceled the car. I am not paying $4,000 for an option I do not want. To verify this is a true story. The 2023 ordered car VIN xxx PMA26750.

It's not a scam, they simply changed from BlueCruise being included on all Premiums to it being an option on 2023.5 models. It cannot be removed from an already-built car.

Yes you can order a new 2023 for cheaper, but you'll have to wait for it then.

Also, you get a $2000 bonus cash on the existing order, that will make it close in price after considering you have to buy the charger for $500 on new 2023.5 models as well.

So you joined the forum today to complain about pricing of a car you're not going to buy? Cool.

I'm not sure what your issue is here. Modern cars come with things that you can't remove. Go and look at the ordering process for Rivian ... you literally have 5 options - Color, Wheels, Battery Size, Motors and Off-Road Package. Or look at an EV6 ... you have trim, color and a couple accessories you can pick from.

If you want to pick from a million and one different options go order a Porsche, you'll be on the order page for 2 weeks before you get through selecting everything. Selectability has a high price. As EVs are still not-so-profitable, anything under 50k is likely going to be cookie-cutter. It's not a scam, it's a way to get cars on the road for cheaper, which is why a 2023 is base priced lower than a 2021.

I hear ya. I guess what I am trying to say is if you are waiting on a Mustang Mach E. Check the invoice in the App. Ford is saying they are lowering prices but when the car arrives the invoice is padded with an option that can’t be removed. I found this out 5 days prior to dealer pickup.

I’ve been reading this forum for awhile. I own a 2021 Mach E. Never felt the need to post. I just wish Ford would have been more transparent about pricing on the App instead of springing it on me at pickup. At no place did it say that I was paying for the option of dubious value. When I called the dealer several months ago about the discrepancy between the App price and what I saw on the news, I was informed it would be corrected at delivery. FYI I’ve taking a lot of shit from a ICE Mustang crew. My cousin owns a 19641/2 convertible, my brother owns a 1970 Boss, neighbor owns 2020 Boss. :). I love the Mach E.

I feel like you don't understand how this works. If you are taking delivery around now, you must have ordered in the last 4-6 months. At that time, a 3-year BlueCruise subscription was standard and was part of the price of the car.

All vehicles ordered at that time were built to the specifications of the order starting in March. The May price reduction comes with some changes to the vehicle that reduce costs and minus the charging cords and the BlueCruise subscription. Those are now optional. Ford built you the car you ordered and did not "pad" it with a BlueCruise "option." It's an option now, but not on the car you ordered. They can't just "take it out."

I ordered in November and had no expectation of getting my car for $4K less when it came with equipment that later became optional. This would be unreasonable. As @Mach-Lee said above, you'd have to re-order the '23.5 version to get what you want.

I understand that this is a different situation when ordering EVs because of the time to delivery. When I ordered the 2021 Mach E, They dropped the price I think $3,000 for my model between ordering and delivery. This time around I watched the news and it was reported a price drop. The news reported that new prices would be applied to all orders. see Car and Driver link below. It caught me off guard. It was not priced to my expectation at that point. I wish Ford would have reach out and defined the pricing, and had I known I would have canceled and reordered with new pricing. I still might reorder. But it is a totally different market today than it was in 2022. I want to reiterate that I own a 2021 and love the car that’s why I ordered a second one. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a...tang-mach-e-prices-drop-increased-production/

It will be around $59k (no charger, no BC). I'm happy with my 2022 Premium AWD with BC+charger and rubber mat set that I did not want for less than $59k.

Added: I was referring to AWD. Having to drive both AWD and RWD MMEs, I would prefer an AWD due to skinny tires and my behavior driving a stick shift.
