I am potentially going to trade in my 2023 Mach e standard to the extended range with the new incentives it’s literally a few dollars more in finance. I currently have 3 yrs complimentary Blue Cruise. I just read that may have changed to 90 days. I admit I love blue cruise and yes that’s a deal breaker. Any insight?

You can either buy BC at the time of purchase (3 years for $2100 I think ) or you’ll get a free 90 day trial.

If you don’t buy BC upfront then the price is $800 per year or $75 per month after the 90 day trial.

Buying my Premium they told me to wait for the ninety days, and then sign up for whatever plan I wanted. I want the three year one. The guys I dealt with don't know everything about the MME. I clued them into a few things, but they are enthusiastic about EVs, and the dealership is putting in several DC chargers. Their Level 2 is pretty anemic.

Get an older stock 23, it will have a higher MSRP and have 3 years of BlueCruise. There is a hidden dealer incentive so you can get it for the same price as the lower MSRP that only has 90 days.

You bought a 2023 from the first half.

A 2023.5 was either ordered with 3 years, and a higher price, or 90 days and a lower price. Of course your 2023 dropped in value, as new cars do, so this is likely non-starter anyway.

Just a comment about the sales force at my dealership, I took a dozen questions over on day 3 of having the car. They were able to answer all of those questions, but readily admit they are still learning. Kid is going to take me to 3-4 Level 3 chargers, to ensure I am signed up and know how to do it.

What perceived advantage do you see and expect to get by going to the extended range?

Which 2023 do you have? Is it the LFP battery car?

Are you aware that you can only charge the extended-range car to 90% most of the time?
For most people's daily driving, 90% of the extended range battery is plenty. For those who need to drive more, charging to 100% right before driving is no big deal. For road trips, DC fast charging slows as the battery gets more full, so both standard range and long range will be limited to charging to around 80% because of charging speed. Depends on how you use the car. That extra range makes a difference on a longer road trip, especially into regions with more sparse infrastructure.

Aren't the majority of people charging at home overnight?
Yes. Which is why I said the 90% charge on the extended range battery isn't often a big deal. Sure, the difference between 90% of extended range vs 100% of standard range LFP isn't as significant, and for people who never road trip long distances, LFP is probably fine, but there definitely are use cases where that extra range is very helpful and may be worth the extra cost. There also are those edge case people who drive a couple hundred miles every day, and in winter, that's going to be harder to do on a standard range compared to extended range unless they stop to charge, which would be annoying to have to do every day. Those people can charge their cars to 100% daily since it won't be sitting that full for that long.
