No, only by charge location.
This is one of the huge pain points of the Mach E IMO. You have to plug in, HOPE that the location shows up in the infinitely buggy app, and then HOPE that the charging max % is applied on that location. Extremely inconvenient when you're at a charger you don't normally go to, or in an area with bad reception. I don't understand Ford sometimes...

While I agree this is an issue, for me it is minor. I just wish Ford would find a fix for the erroneous GPS position ahead of fixing this. That causes so many more problems, bad navigation, no BlueCruise, and incorrect speed limits.

This seems like such an unnecessarily complicated approach to charging. I hope in practice it's just a minor annoyance.

Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should

Admittedly 95% of my charging is at home, but its been almost no inconvenience. I may be luckly but mine always picks up my address and charges to the right level. When on a trip I usually just manually stop the charging myself or time(as in I'm usually not stopped long enough) doesn't let it get above 80-90%. If charging at a hotel or over night I just add the new location as a saved spot.

A default charging level would be nice, but for me its been a very minor issue.

It's quite annoying and buggy. You get used to it. But #1 rule of Mach-E charging... After you plug in wait a minute or two and then look at the app or the car's console to verify how far it's going to charge. When it does glitch out you'll see it there. I've only seen mine glitch out twice. Normally due to updates that overwrote the settings previously saved.

So as I write this I'm charging at a new Chargepoint location. Do I actually need to stop the charging before I can "save location" in FordPass (in order to set a max charge level)? I can't figure out how to save the location or tell it to stop at 80%. Thanks!

You have to click on the pencil/edit icon for charging locations... Then you can set it while it's charging.

If charging at a hotel on a trip, you should charge to 100%...

Thank you. So I guess you can't do this from the FordPass app? You can manage the "preferred charge settings" in FordPass for a saved location, but it doesn't look like you can actually save a location in FordPass (at least not while actively charging)?

Not sure what the heartburn here is for. I have one location saved - home (I stopped working because it was getting annoying.) At location, home, I have it set for 90%. It always works, at least until the next OTA which usually dumps the location for some reason. If I was going to work and work had a charger, then I probably would have two locations set to 90%. Maybe, though, I’d set the work one to 100% if it was free?. On the road, I’m either DCFC (unplugging at 80 or 90%) or overnight charging at a hotel or other location On a level 2. For the overnights, on the road, I’ll take 100% for the added range in the morning and especially if it’s free?. Anywhere else, like an in-town ChargePoint at a restaurant or shopping area, I’m usually not there long enough to get to 100% from a level 2.

Why do you never want to charge past 80%?

I charged to 100% to get there, I did not charge to 100% every night while I was there. I saw no need.

I have my airport location saved and set to 90%. Just because I don’t want the car sitting there a week or more at 100% waiting for me to get back.
