I’m really beginning to think that they are not ready for these cars.

This is THE understatement of the 21st Century

Rod, I'm so sorry to read this. I do have a couple thoughts: 1) is there any chance the dealership will let you (or your wife) setup FordPass on the loaner car so that she can remote start it? That would go a long way to make your life better, I think. 2) As Lee suggested, I think you should consider asking Ford to buy you out. It is simply not reasonable that you are going on two months for a problem Ford apparently doesn't know how to fix. Honestly they should swap the car you have now with the one in the shop and call it done. Best of luck.

Did you turn off the charge port indicator light setting? That might be why the rings didn't light up afterwards.

It's possible you got a bad replacement SOBDM, but I think it's more likely the issue is with software/programming. Ford has some issues with SOBDM software and programming right now. The current version of the software broke some stuff. I think they are going to have to come up with a new software revision to fix it. Unfortunately that means months of time, which you may not have.

I'm sorry for your situation, I know how frustrating it is when Ford has no clue how to fix things. To save face, they should be offering to cover your payments until it's fixed, or offer you a buyout. Doing anything else is not acceptable if they can't fix it and you lose use of it.
So I just went through every setting on the loaner and don’t find anything for the “charge port indicator lights”. I think I recall something like that but can’t find it. Can you guide me? Or anyone else?

My charge port light setting is under Access.

Ford Mustang Mach-E Charge Port Replacement and unknown codes image

When you really want your car back, and Ford says they need to compare your broken car to a working car….and the dealer doesn’t have a Mach-E on the lot…. I guess you have to to bring your OTHER car in. Hoping it helps get the other car back.

Thank You
Oh no! After reading these posts I'm really worried now. My 2021 Mach E won't charge on my home charger. (D2) It charged on a D3. This had been going on for 3 months. After dealing with Ford Motor Company, it was determined that the car had to get a diagnostic test. My car has been at the dealer in Manchester, NH since Tuesday evening (5/23, today is 5/26). Now I'm told that I need to replace the chargepoint. They will order the piece on Monday, it's not covered in the warranty & will cost me $1700! WTF!! Now, the dealer doesn't have a loaner & their car rentals don't have any left. Any suggestions? And did you all have to pay for this part?
Thank you. I'm really frustrated!

How is a charge port not covered under a bumper to bumper warranty? Or are you outside your factory warranty based on mileage?

Just realized I never closed this thread. After a couple more weeks, we got the car back. Worked OKish but the ring lights weren’t working. Once the temps warmed up we were stuck with slower throttled charging as detailed on the thread about level 2 charge speeds being throttled. But we’ve lived with it. The ring lights did eventually start working after another update last month.

Summary: charges were failing. Charge port and on-board charger were replaced. Now level 2 charging is throttled (almost surely by software installed to protect the charge port) and the ring lights didn’t work for about 7-8 months.

Hey Rod, just to clarify, you do not have this same issue with your '21 GTPE, correct? I ask because I don't have this issue with my '21 GTPE either.

That’s correct Mark. I added that over on Shayne’s thread about level 2 charging. The GT-PE is fine. So I’m hesitant to get the 25B50 software out on it. I’ve used both cars on both Grizzl-E’s. Both charge my GTPE fine. Both result in throttling on her AWD-ER.

I've updated mine with 23B50 through FDRS and still have not seen any charging issues yet. However that is not to say you won't have any after updating. Everyone seems to have different results. Seems like temperature has something to do with the throttling issue. When 23B50 came out last month, our temps were in the mid 80's so not sure if that is hot enough to cause throttling but in the summer prior to installing the update I have charged in upper 90˚ temps with no problem.

Around here, anything above 40° will cause throttling. Garage temps in the 30s seem to allow full 40 amp (or about 9KW) rates.
