I'm curious to what others are doing with scheduling, when you have a chargepoint or any other home charge AND Fordpass.
Do you set up same scheduling on both chargers to match (very annoying). Or can I disable fordpass schedule and use just the charge point schedule
Will setting fordpass to charge when plugged in gives chaegepint priority scheduling.

If you pay the same electricity rate 24/7, then you don't need to set schedules. If you have an off-peak period, set it in the car, not FordPass.

I also set it on the EVSE, which prevents the car from pulling juice during peak hours without me overriding the charger.

The car will pull juice outside of scheduled hours in the following conditions:

- remote start
- departure time
- it wants to warm or cool the battery

I don't want to pay peak rates for those things unless I decide I want to.

Coming up on 2 years set this way, works fine. I use a JuiceBox 48.

Yes, setting the car to charge when plugged in will allow the ChargePoint Home Flex to control charging. As @hybrid2bev notes, that won’t allow you to set a charging limit.

I have the schedule setup on both my ChargePoint and in the car. I’m on TOU rates, so it’s cheaper to use the schedule. Setting up the schedule on the CPHF keeps the car from pulling power off schedule, like the known GPS bug that can override the cars set charging schedule.

Only setting the schedule on the CPHF will only honor the hours of charging and not the SOC percentage that you want. For me, only the car can set the SOC limits in the schedule.

Setting FP to ā€˜charge when plugged in’ will ignore the SOC limits and the scheduled time set in the car. If you don’t limit the time on the CPHF the car will start charging immediately when plugged in. The car will not have a SOC limit so it will try to charge to 100% SOC.

I use Ford Pass to set my my charging schedule to match lower time of use rates and have had no problems over a year of ownership. My EVSE is ChargePoint Flex.

My electric rate does not vary so I do not program my charging. I do want to point out that my understanding is that if you program a time in the car with a desired SOC and the car does not believe it can attain it during the programmed window it will begin charging outside the window. That is why having an EVSE that locks charging to a TOU window and then programming the charge within the car may be best in those type of billing scenarios. I have read too many complaints with FP programming so if I ever need to I will program in the car.
