Does anyone here use covers when charging their car outdoors? How concerned should I be about the plug getting wet from the rain & snow? I see a bunch of charger plug covers available on Amazon, but none have very many reviews. Can anyone here recommend for or against any particular one?

I'm pretty sure that fender is aluminum. See this thread.

Thanks for the thread pointer. I searched before posting, but clearly did a bad job of it.

No need for any cover unless you're worried about handle freezing in place.

I did buy one of those but only for the winter to avoid snow piling up in the port while charging at home. Haven't needed it yet, but it's coming.

The Mach E is my 3d plug-in car. Owned the predecessors 2012 - 2017 and 2017 - 2022. I park in a driveway year-round (no garage). Never needed such items.

I was thinking of getting a small brush - almost like a lather brush - to sweep away snow in the morning. I've had crusty snow build up a bit once when the snow started above freezing and the temps dropped overnight. I needed to clear it off as the charge port door would not close properly.

freezing rain or snow can easily be avoided by shutting a grocery bag in the hood as a drape...
