Thanks @Mgmken. I took the car to my dealer and they fixed the issue. This is what they wrote in the notes -
Well, glad it is gone. Looks like they are finding many different solutions. Im just glad I dont hear it on mine anymore. It was annoying and embarrassing for Ford.

Well I think I may have come across the source of the crosswind rattle, it's probably the cowl drains (see video). There's one on each side:

They allow water to drain out of the cowl. They have a a check flap, likely to minimize the amount of air that gets sucked into the HVAC from the wheel well. But in a crosswind situation, I could see the downwind flap getting blown open and the upwind flap getting blown closed.

Video from below is sideways FYI.

Interesting. Could definitely do it.

Although for whatever reason I haven’t heard it in a very long time in my car.

YES I think that's probably it. I also haven't heard it anymore and it would make sense to me that as the part gets dirty the tolerances probably tighten up a hair to the point it doesn't rattle anymore.

I'm getting a lot of rattle from cross wind. It only appears when cross wind is above ~10mph and at highway speed. Lower speed I don't hear it and with head/tail winds I don't hear it, just with moderate cross winds. It always appears on the side of the car which the cross wind is hitting.

At first I thought that it was the badging, but it appears to be fastened down really well.

Anyone have any ideas or experienced this?

Here's another example of the sound from @btcook:

Hello! Did you ever find the source of the sound?? My brand new Hyundai Tucson is making the exact same sound and seems to also be caused by crosswinds. It's still under warranty but the dealership can't seem to find the source. Any advice??

While it may sound like sarcasm, my advice would be to play whatever you listen to louder or start listening to something.

Unless you have nothing better to do than drive to a dealership and wait around for them to tell you they "can't replicate the issue" I suggest you just move on, which is what I think most of us did. I would love to get back the lost time of my life that I've spent at dealerships.

This was an interesting read.... to add further fuel to the fire, (my MME is fine..?), my '22 Maverick has had this issue since new, and still has it 3 years/50k miles later.... I have literally crawled all over that thing trying to figure it out... as an accomplished engineer & mechanic, it has me stumped. I just have to assume it's something that is not accessible, something loose in body structure somewhere. I still keep a secondary eye on it, for something obvious (yeah, right...?), but I've basically given up on it.... I find it so interesting that it crosses over in completely different models....
