Hey everyone,

this is my first cold weather season with my 2024 MME 4X Premium and at 80% I use to get 370km range. Now at -1°C it’s getting 290km with 85% SoC.

Anyone have a 2025-26 with a heat pump? What’s your experience been? I’m averaging 3.7km/kWh with mixed driving (max 115km/hr).

For reference, I live/drive in the GTA (Ontario for those outside Canada).

You're getting a 26.2% decrease in PROJECTED RANGE. Seems right on. The km/kWh comparison of warm to cold is where you can better understand the drop.

Have seen 40% losses on the "Guess o meter" when single digit f and colder. Driving causes cold air to flow over the battery pack leading to conductive losses. Battery temperature will drop as you drive even with a departure time setting. Search for Mach Lee reports topics on managing such.

I'm also in the GTA but I have a 2025 premium with heat pump. It's all new to me but I drive a total of 60 minutes to work there and back. I have departure time set in the morning when I leave so I think it is preconditioning but not on the way home. I noticed about 4% more battery use in weather around 0C. So instead of 9-10% battery use its about 14%. I have to say though, after 1 minute of driving, the cabin is already heating up even after being in a cold parking lot all day.

it sounds like the heat pump makes a significant difference in energy savings without a negative impact on heating times. Thanks for sharing!

Good point, I tycoially got around 5.0km/kWh when the temps are around 22°C-24°C now about 3.7km/kWh at -1°C now.
