Hey, I ordered Tesla adapter a while ago (when it was first announced) thru the app, but no signs of it so far .
How do I check the status?

I called the other day and they are delayed to to supply chain issues. Also the email states

“Your Fast Charging Adapter is currently in production. While demand has been very high, supplies are currently limited. We’re working hard to stock as many as we can, as fast as we can. We will send you a follow-up email as soon as your adapter is ready to ship.”

Makes me scratch my head. Third party manufacturer is already shipping units while OEM manufacturer still coming soon …
Maybe I was foolish for thinking along those same lines. I had assumed that bc Tesla and it's early partners knew the opening would happen in the spring, Tesla would have worked to ensure that several thousand adapters were available to ship on day one. And then they would switch to increasing the production run each month or week as more automakers get onboarded.

My guess is that it’s Ford’s responsibility to source the adapters. Tesla gives them the specs like the other aftermarket solutions.

Even if that it the case, and I don't know if it is, I would still find it strange that they wouldn't have their manufacturer produce several thousand that would be ready to ship on day 1. It seems like a reasonable logistics thing to do. I would have the same question for Rivian and GM if it was the case that the automakers are responsible for finding a manufacturer.

Just checked on the status of my adapter and it's showing September as the ETA. I may look into the A2Z to use for the meanwhile.

You should have received a confirmation email BUT ... for a lot of people it sounds like that email went into a spam/junk folder.

For me (and it did end up in my spam folder) the email came from "Ford Motor Company" with an email address of '[email protected]'

The subject line should read: Your Fast Charging Adapter is Reserved

You might search either for that email address or subject line.

Within that email it still wont tell you the status ... it will have a link to Ford's website where you can login to see the status.

I purchased the A2Z adapter about a month ago (they are currently something like 15-20 days from order to shipment) because I have a major trip and wanted to be able to use the Tesla network. I've already tested it and verified that it is working for me (a bit tight the first time plugging in to the Tesla side of the cable and it wouldn't let me fully "lock" it on ... but after a few attempts it loosened up enough and now works great.)

Right, and whether it’s Ford or Tesla making the adapter, they’ve both had the specs and knew what was coming at least as long as A2Z and Lectron, yet they’ve not shipped any, unless you’re, … nevermind. They’re free! They’re free!
