Half of the thread on the Cuautitlan plant seems to have been hijacked by an interesting tangent -- Level 3 DC Fast Charging in PHEVs. However, I don't know of any PHEVs with DCFC. Do you?

To my knowledge, all PHEVs are Level 1/2 charging only.

Just doesn't make much sense to me. Imagine taking a road trip and stopping at L3 chargers every 30 miles just because you don't wanna use gas. Why buy a PHEV that uses gas, then?

The whole point of a PHEV is to charge overnight at home for the next day, where 30-40 miles covers all or most of the typical driver's daily miles. And for those infrequent longer drives, they have the gas backup.

Others include the Mitsubishi Outlander Phev and Japanese Honda Clarity Phev.

This is likely due to Chademo stations being more common than L2 in Japan.

My Prius PHEV only has a 6.8 ish kW battery and takes about 1 hour 45min from 0 to 100% on the maximum charge rate of 3.2kw. That gives me approx 35miles - which considering I only do an 8 mile commute each day works perfectly for me.

A 7kw charge capacity might be nice - but I have got used to it now. Can’t imagine rapid charge would be much use for this model.

The new Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Discovery Sport both support DC charging.

I owned a Honda Clarity PHEV (17 kW batt) - it was not compatible with fast charging. Good car though - had 50-60mile range.
