Do the map lights use a bulb?

Can you replace the map lights or does it use built-in LEDs? I was trying to take it apart to see but it doesn't seem to just pop out, at least not easily so I figured I would see if anyone here knew before I broke something.

No, the lights are all LEDs.

It is definitely LED. Whether or not it is feasible to replace is uncertain, but likely wouldn't be at all easy since the LEDs are almost certainly soldered to a PCB... I would love to change the color from blue to red, but I've not pursued it. (Well, I did try adding a red filter on the off chance it might work, but red and blue pretty much cancel each other out - which is why we photographers use red filters to make the skies dark and dramatic - so the red filter overly darkened the map lights.) I've no idea if Ford uses blue LEDs of the map lights or if they use a blue filter, but my guess is that it's the former.

I was hoping to add these. Still possible with a little soldering assuming they can fit in there. One of these days I’ll probably try to pop it out.

Maybe what's a paper map or the need for a map light... but everyone knows what a map is lol. Most modern services has map(s) in the name - "Google Maps" "Apple Maps" etc.

I kinda had that thought too. I can't think of the last time I looked at a physical map in a car, but I'm sure it was decades ago!

I very much doubt that module would come close to fitting in the space. But I've not looked...
