It's as close to an SUV as I've ever owned/driven.

To me it's a Mustang, and I've owned 3 previous mustangs: an '88 notchback 5.0, an '05 4.6 L GT, and a '14 6 cylinder coupe.

The registration says it's a station wagon, which amuses me greatly. Wonder if I should install a chrome roof rack and some fake wood trim to make it look like my very first car?

But it's heavier (and faster). How about "Mustang Heavy"? It's what happens when a Mustang grows up.
It is not faster, it may be quicker but top speed of the Mach E is not higher than the ICE Mustang, in fact, significantly slower.

It is not faster, it may be quicker but top speed of the Mach E is not higher than the ICE Mustang, in fact, significantly slower.
? Ok. For me, when talking cars, faster and quicker both mean more acceleration. I don't spend a lot of time at top speed. Maybe this can be discussed in its own thread. Let's stick with Car vs SUV here.

Nope. Hatch back sedan, kind of like a wagon. Not an suv in the slightest. Not even a crossover.
Yeah, the more I read this thread the more comfortable I am with "car". I was parked next to a coworker's Dodge Charger sedan and I noticed the MME is just slightly taller, like within 3".

It's a car. A nice, stylish car.

Ok, on that note then I would never ever consider the Mach E an SUV, it just doesn't fit the specs in my opinion.

I consider mine (Select) a CUV.... but only after breaking the 'rules' and installing a receiver hitch for my bike rack, and occasional utility trailer use.

without the hitch it would just be a big heavy pretty good handling hatchback with not good enough performance to be considered a 'sport' anything except stoplight to stoplight.

WITH the hitch, it is a really fun Crossover.
6" clearance, and AWD, will get me anywhere I need to go.
Space enough for family, work, or camping.

..... NOT a racecar, and not even a 'high performance' vehicle. But pretty darn fun in the mountains 'somewhat above' posted speed recommendations.

No. I was astounded when the dealer's service guy called it a 'truck'. It is an estate car or sportwagen in Euro terms.
Interesting. My insurance company here in Ontario listed the Mach e as a truck.

My insurance company does as well, but that label has become largely meaningless.

As I noted earlier in this thread, the PT Cruiser was officially classified as a "truck" too.

I think it looks similar to a Porsche Cayenne Coup. Porsche refers to that car as an SUV. I call mine a Mach E. Even better when I see a nice Dino fuel mustang ill tell my wife “that’s a nice looking SUV”.

It’s a small SUV like a Tesla model Y except the model Y passes the Swedish slalom “moose test” so the MachE is definitely an SUV. What’s with that?

nope, I think of it as a crossover. But Ford did propose it as an SUV to keep the tax credit going for a bit longer.
