While I have a teeny, tiny bit of empathy for Job 2 Q4 owners, it's pretty teeny. You have BlueCruise. Job 1 cars got it 9 months late.

But I really am puzzled. Do you not read of the many, many, many issues that dealerships are having doing the updates, largely driven by issues with Ford's software and systems? Cars are being made inoperable (mine was for a period of time). OTA updates are breaking things, like killing BlueCruise (mine right now).

I had my 2022 updated by the dealership before delivery, because there was a hold on it (that they couldn't see) for the BlueCruise map update. They did a few other updates also, then stopped, because they were afraid of what would happen if they kept going. Background - they had a bunch of F-150s in for BlueCruise updates that failed when they did them and were sitting awaiting fixes.

Hoping you get something sooner that has a good chance of causing issues to me isn't the brightest idea, but hey, what do I know?
Yeah, if you’re the first to get updated, you gotta be willing to be a Beta tester and deal with bugs.

It’s not always good to be first.

Feature parity is not ice cream, more of it for me does not equal less of it for you.
Is there a limited supply of ice cream where you live?

You definitely missed the analogy.

Your complaint about job 2 cars and updates makes it sound like job 1 have it better.

Reality is job 2 have had the better software (bigger ice cream scoop).

Job 1 and Job 2 cars have had different software all along. Makes sense that they’ll get updates at different times. Job 1 is just catching up now. Job 2 will probably be next (just a guess).

Oh no I got the analogy...it was a bad one.
Software is not a limited supply.

And yes Job 1's do indeed have better software...especially now that Job 1's have BlueCruise.

Nope, you still missed it. There is no limited supply of ice cream in the analogy.

The analogy is that you were complaining when you have the BIGGER scoop.

Have you read the Bluecruise thread for job 1 cars? Many still don’t have it and it’s not working for many that did get the update.

That's what I'm thinking. I'm eligible for the 21P22update, but I figure the way things have been going, it's liable to do more harm than good.

BTW, BlueCruise is fun to try, but ultimately isn't worth the paper it's printed on. I hope that will be some consolation to you!
Disagree. I use it and like it a lot.

My job 2 is so fraught with system bugs. so annoying. nothing on the horizon it seems. bugs are bugs. doesn't matter job 1,2,3 or 100.
If you are experiencing true “bugs” (something not working as it should as opposed to “missing features”), your dealer should be able to update your car under warranty.

Awesome! I hope they get their issues fixed! No I haven't read those threads because I don't have a job 1 car, I have a job 2 car. I don't go in threads that don't apply to me.

This thread is for those who don't have the features that Job 1 cars do have and haven't gotten the update.

Thanks for participating!

So I have a Job 2 car, and didn't have Hands-Free for 7 months until I very recently got it fixed via OTA. Great!

So now I'm waiting for an OTA that will fix 80% charging curve. Maybe as a bonus this OTA will fix some other annoyances and the car will reset the trip odometer at every start.

But life is not perfect, something is always worse than what we'd like it to be. I'll take those "problems" over any others.

Working in software this is pretty common, so Ford has themselves supporting multiple releases and that is just for 1 car only out for 1 year. They also have versions for every other Ford. I am sure they are working on a consolidation of platforms, and universal updates, but good luck with that. My company is 15+ years old dealing with the same, trying to retool the backend to make updates consistent and easy to rollout.

Sure I do...Job 1's have features that Job 2's do not. Again this isn't about Job 1's.

It's about Job 2's and being left out of software updates that add functionality.

I'm not sure how this got turned into a complaint fest about Job 1's update issues.

Look at it this way, last year around this time when ford engineers were spending a lot of time getting the Job 2s software to be newer and better, job 1s got nothing.
Now they are catching up the job 1s to what your car shipped with. With a few ver small exceptions. I will gladly trade you my tiles games and slight charge curve update for your frunk button.

The frunk button is probably the biggest waste of a feature trust me.

Besides the charging curve, name 1 "feature".

I think Apple Maps EV connectivity and a couple of games. But we have a Frunk button and a handy 5s limiter on the GT's. Other than that I think we are pretty similar feature wise (obviously many Job 1's still in limbo on BC).
