Not only do we issue them, they're required. And we are charged more for them. And if you want personalized plates? You can get those on a standard plate but you lose the benefit of having the EV plates. The benefit? Higher registration fees and access to the zipper lanes on (Oahu only). On every other island? No benefit to the plates at all.

Brand New optional (for an additional fee on top of the regular extra fee. Benefits the Polynesian Voyaging Socierty), This is what will go on my MME when they're actually available (September). I live on Hawaii Island. These plates will simply advertise my suppoort for the PVS, there's no benefit to having them on the Big Island.

In Tucson we call then "suicide lanes" because they don't use barriers to control the direction of traffic flow. They rely on the honor system and trust that people will read the signs and figure out which direction is appropriate for the time of day.

Arizona has Alternative Fuel plates for BEV, some PHEV owners, CNG and fuel cell vehicles. Allows HOV lane access with a single occupant and very reduced vehicle license tax. I think I end up saving about $4500 in VLT over a 5 year period compared to a similar value ICE vehicle.

California doesn’t have special EV plates, but it does have a bunch of alternative designs available for a fee.

I got the 1960s legacy black plates with yellow lettering on my Mach-E. Looks great with Rapid Red, even makes me sort of be ok with the front license plate bracket.

That probably looks pretty cool. We got lucky that AZ's Alt Fuel plates match the color scheme of our 4xe.

That is a bummer. So maybe our C-Max plates won't transfer to the Wrangler then. The 3rd party agency that handles all my title/registration stuff said it should transfer but maybe not? I guess we will find out when the paperwork comes in the mail. ?
