I think I rode that for ten months :) I had a few times were I would walk outside and my passenger door would be popped open a few cm and would need to be actually opened and closed. I had a few times where it actually decided it wanted to open while I was driving around. That NEARLY got me to take it in, but it did it maybe 4 days total and a few times each of those days. It also did a thing where I was stopping, and once I was stopped, the door would unlock. So I would have to reach over to the passenger door and shut it. Be fine, but do it over and over that day when it started to do it. I would wipe the door down and let it be for a day. Get in the next day, get the fault, but no issues. Sometimes a month with no pop open and/or a month between the weird want to pop open while driving. Then that update happened and they did a software reset, Didn't fix my door fault, but it did randomly stop opening while I was actually driving. Which I guess, Thanks Ford for at least doing that. Seems odd that the over air could stop the random opening weird stuff while driving but it did. Ford.... I mean, they know they built these cars without sealing these actuators and they are getting water in them. 900$ for a dealership to fix it is NUTS.

Well, finally... the door actuator will not activate. Door just open. Had to bungee cord the door and drive it home.

I could get the part for 220$ at my dealership plus tax. Or order only for 130 with tax and shipping. I bought it online. Dealer wouldn't budge on the price at Baytown Ford. Ordered online from another dealership in Texas who shipped it to me. Make it make sense........

The part is currently lost in the mail, last update was North Harris County processing center.... and I have been without my car for going on 9 days. I watched the video online of someone who replaced this. Hopefully it goes smoothly once I get the part.

Sounds like you have been pretty patient with what would be a frightening experinece for us especially if we are transporting our elderly ( or more accurately more elderly than us) Moms or two grandsons. Thank goodness for the seatbelts! Is this a know issue that hopefully Ford has corrected or might there be some preventative measures to take to prevent it from happening?
