Head's up: When mine was fixed by the local Ford dealer (warranty), they somehow failed to connect the Lock button on that door (the lock symbol above the Open button). So be sure to check that when you pick up your car!

I too have had this problem with my late 2021 MME Premium ER. The first time this April. Started giving me "Door Fault Service Required" and then "Transmission Not In Park". It would then put the car in Park on its own or sometimes the Parking Brake. Dangerous to say the least when traveling around. Took it to the dealership. They replaced the door module. Wanted to charge me over $600. My warranty had expired as it was starting to happen. Complained to Ford and they agreed to a 80/20 split so I paid out about $130. Seemed to fix the issue until late July when the exact same thing happens again! Mind you this vehicle only has 23,000 miles on it and little use. Now the dealership says it is another door module that needs to be replaced at my cost! I mean come on Ford, what is going on here?? I own another 2021 MME with 63,000 miles on it and haven't had this issue. This is ridiculous, not to mention dangerous. Ford obviously has a large batch of bad door modules or a software issue causing this problem. They should be fixing this for free and issuing a recall. I bought three Ford vehicles (2 MME's and a 2024 Maverick) and now I'm starting to question if I will remain loyal to Ford any more. I left GM after a string of bad customer service issues. Ford might be next.

I appreciate you sharing the precedent regarding the cost sharing. I’ve put off having it done until Ford agrees to pay for it. If I’m forced to repair it at least I can split the repair cost with Ford.

Same happened yesterday. Does anyone have any more details as to which door is typically at fault, the module that was changed and where is it (I assume there is a module for each door and they are behind the door panel?). Also mentioned was a bad earth, again which door and which earth? Appreciate any information please. FORD if you are reading this, has anything concrete been found, anything common etc etc., if so please let us know.
