Exactly. Why is Ford doing this? I get the battery longevity. But add a mode strictly for this type of event.I know it's the hopefully comment, but if Ford removes the 5 second restriction, then this car is pretty formidable.
Ford is responsible for the battery for 8 years regardless of who owns it. It might be ok with you but then you sell it and it wasn't ok with them.Exactly. Why is Ford doing this? I get the battery longevity. But add a mode strictly for this type of event.
They are responsible for ICE engines and transmissions for 5 years, it's nothing new for them to responsible for car components. If they are worried that their Batteries won't last then they are no different than Tesla offering Beta products.Ford is responsible for the battery for 8 years regardless of who owns it. It might be ok with you but then you sell it and it wasn't ok with them.
But the Mach E has a better battery pack… so?It's all in the battery pack. Someday, there will be a better battery pack. Tesla isn't standing still on batteries either. There is something coming maybe next year from them. It will have more power or will be less costly, maybe both.
Should we give Ford a participation trophy?Listen. Ford did their best. Did they beat the Tesla? Obviously not. Did they match the Tesla? Again, the answer is no. Should they have called the car the Ford E-scape instead of the Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition? Maybe.
But regardless, they did their best. Do you like it when you do your best and fail and everyone points it out and laughs at you? Of course you don't. So please don't do this to Ford.
Do you think their execs are crying a bit cause we are so harsh on them? They kinda had it coming to then when they advertise 3.5 0-60 but then say that’s “simulated” and then falls short, then falls shorter when you drag race and get stomped by a car you aim to take down, then kicked when your passing power is that of a Nissan Maxima… good try Ford, til next time…Listen.
