Sorry to resurrect this post but wanted to add my experience here in 2025. With P&C activated and having EA Pass+. Plugging in first and then swiping in the app resulted in a charge to my BlueOval account at full rate. Next session I turned off the BlueOval plug and charge, then plugged in the charger, and used the EA app to swipe/start the charge and was charged via EA with the 25% discount. This worked consistently for 4 visits. For testing purposes next visit I will reactivate BlueOval and try EA using the tap to pay first, then plug in. Unfortunately I think the EA stations require plugging in first before tap to pay or using your app.

Would love other folks input here on their experiences recently.

They do not. Been activating charger with EA, then plugging in, for 4.5 years. Works great. Sorry you paid full price, but there are numerous threads discussing this.

When using Plug & Charge with Blue Oval at an Electrify America station, am I supposed to be charged the full price rate or the EA Pass+ rate (25% discount)? When I called EA a month or so ago, I was told I'd get the discounted Pass+ rate when charging via Blue Oval. But I tried it for the first time today and got charged the full price rate. I called EA back and this time they said I'd have to pay the full price rate. I didn't feel like calling back a 3rd time to break the tie.
Don’t hold your breath for to long.
You are not the only one who found that you will be charged the full price using any other app/network. For a while while they(EA), were upgrading their network software, EA will charge you full price irregardless if you had Pass or Pass+.
Use the EA app and follow the instructions when you initialize charging and hopefully it all works.
Yours and my sanity is more important while you on the road trying to talk to EA about your subscription issues.
I lost it once on my way home and it was my first stop. The rest of the way I used Tesla Superchargers.
Also remember that you can use the Tesla superchargers thru your Blue Oval network but it will be at full price.
Use the Tesla app, it works.

Good to hear. I think it may have been because it was my first time charging both the car and using EA that may have caused the issue.

I have yet to try a Supercharger and that experience with using their membership rates is probably another existing thread. I'm scared to look.

Actually is very simple. The membership is $13.77 a month.
If you travel a lot is a good deal.
You do get the discounted rate all the time. If you have an adaptor you need to try the T superchargers.
Regardless what your beliefs are towards Tesla and its mercurial founder(Elon), Tesla provides a dependable service and it works all the time for me at least.

I have memberships at EA and Tesla, I have 3 EVs and use EA and Tesla at least once a month. I always swipe the app first, then plug in, it always works. I was doing this a long time ago when EA always had issues connecting, even before I had the Mach E. They once told me on the phone to swipe first then plug in, opposite of the instructions on the screen. Tesla instructions are to start the charge first from the app as well, connect the adapter, then plug in.

Also, do not use Ford Pass to start the charge, that will not provide the discount.
