I was driving my 2021 Job 2 Mach E premium earlier this evening when a service due soon popped up on the screen. I thought it was related to me coming up on the 1 year service which ideally shouldn't be till mid March. However after driving for a hour and a half I noticed this error message on my fordpass app. I am a.little freaked out by this and wondering if I should attempt to drive the vehicle back home late in the night Ina couple of hours for now.

This just happened to me this morning, I'm 20 miles from home. Hoping that I can make it home. I have an appointment on Wednesday so I have to travel about 25 miles. I also had a charging fault overnight so my guess is HVBJB or the battery pack itself.

Got a message while charging that the charge was complete but it was only at 75%. All lights red when we went to unplug and move the car back home (use a free ChargePoint across the street).

started it and drove home ok but had a service vehicle soon message and then the following messages in FordPass.

tried plugging it back in at home and still have the red circle of lights. Just got the 3.5.4.2 update on Friday and have had the HVJB update done. Will wait a bit and see if it clears, but if not should we have it towed to dealer or is it safe to drive it there (about 25 miles away)? If it clears should we still take it and have them check the codes? Happy to send our VIN to someone here to check as well. Job 1 CA RT 1 so no AWD.

I had all of the above messages when 4.1.1 installed. I happened to have an appointment for brake maintenance at my dealer the next day and ask them to look into it. They found a lot of communication error codes, they had to reload software to many modules on the car. Seems fine now.

Follow up. After letting the car sit for about 30 minutes, restarted the car and no error messages. Plugged in the car and all lights blue and charging. Put a message into the service advisor we worked with to get blue cruise installed and will see what he recommends for next steps.

Again the best way to approach these errors is to unplug, shut off the car, and come back in 15+ minutes. If everything is working normally then it’s just a charging or gear shift fault. If the powertrain fault is still there after a sleep cycle, then it may be a more serious issue.

After driving the car after the fault, send your VIN to me and tell me the aprox date and time of occurrence for more info on your error.

Thank you for this information! I suspect it is due to a charging fault since it happened while charging, but will send the additional information if it occurs again.

Just got my car back from the dealership. Theres no problem with the car, the only code they pulled off it was P2C94:00 something with the SOBDM. I had gotten 4.1.1 a couple days prior and my only guess is that I was getting the 4.1.2 update and it was plugged in? IDK. But now I have 4.1.2 and a working car.

My wife got this message (along with the Pre-Collision Assist not being available) this weekend while driving our 2022 CR1 in the SoCal rain. She was almost home, so she just parked the car and let me know. I wasn't home, but I could see the message in FP. I was able to schedule an appointment with a local dealer for this past Tuesday, so I took the car in.

When I did get home, none of the messages were available on the car, but they were still in FP. I checked with a scanner, but no DTC messages were stored.

Dropped the car off with the dealer, and he said that I was also missing the HVAC control module recall (22B28) and the BlueCruise recall (22P08), so they would load those. When I talked with them last night, they said that the car had been programming for 7 hours and still wasn't completed, so they would call me today.

I just got off the phone with them, and I was told that they could see nothing wrong with the car after the programming was completed. They said that their manual basically told them to drive it for a while to see if any of the messages pop up again; otherwise, they'll be returning the car to me later today.

It seems like this just happens to a few people, but I haven't been able to find any rhyme or reason. Is that kind of what this is for now?

Seems like a few people got the same message over the past weekend till date without any major concerns with the vehicle itself. It's possible that something got triggered on the FordPass software end. I will also report back after I drop off my car tomorrow on what feedback they give me.

Just got the Powertrain malfunction/reduced power error on my car (that I’ve had for less than 1000 miles and not even 3 week). Acting a little wonky after that. Initially started up again and backed into the garage fine, but then after restarting to back up a little more, it was giving me an error message about vehicle not being in park when I tried to put it in reverse (it was).

it’s been glitchy all day before this. Got stuck on the guest profile and I had to reset sync to be able to switch to my profile. Then, when I got home and shut it off, it said “no key detected, restart car”. Also wasn’t letting me change settings because it said I was using a MyKey (never set one up).

car updated to 3.5.4 last week.

If it starts up ok next time, should I roll with it or should I go ahead and take it in? Now I’m nervous to drive it.
