So my GT window sticker said that my car came with Ford's new Ford Refresh95 air filter but it seemed to perform just as well as the filter in all of my other cars and it looks just like a regular filter. Did you happen to get a Refresh 95 filter?

I upgraded to PureFlow's CABIN AIR FILTER Part # PC99542X and it seems to do a much better job compared to what Ford provided.
I swapped out for a PureFlow filter as well.

Made a HUGE difference in smells.

Smell was the main reason I use recirc.

The want for recirc is to not have to huff everyone else's exhaust fumes. It's obnoxious and they are (especially diesel) pretty bad for you. There are literally studies which strongly recommend only windows closed on recirc for all freeway driving.
Glad I live in an area I never sit in traffic

I think those were done in the absurd traffic of SOCAL. Do you know of any studies done for the "normal" highway driving at 70 mph?

If I can smell or even not smell it then it's annoying and hurts my/your/our health, even small exposures to diesel exhaust causes DNA damage (I spent a decade studying the processes that put that DNA back together). Around here my biggest problem has not been freeways but small two lane highways and surface streets with work trucks and exhaust spewing diesel dump trucks and idiots who delete their DEF systems and "tune" them and you're often stuck behind them at low speeds.-- It's really annoying in my lifted Jeep which also randomly shuts off recirc, something about being higher up. Is still an issue in my Bolt and Mach E though.

I have never had ice or fog up in recirc you just have to focus on just defrost then. In my bolt that would gobble battery down as it ran the heater core at max power regardless of which temp was called for. I'm curious how the Mach E handles max defrost efficiency from that perspective.

Can you cite a peer-reviewed study that confirms this?

I don't worry about any of this
I'm on a motorcycle for 5 months if the year, it is what it is
I've never had any success with defrost in recirc, it always causes fogging, in all the vehicles I've owned.
With snow and -35C the auto setting works fine, I've never ran max defrost

I moved away from that -35degC shite as fast as I could once i finished grad school. Maybe that's the difference. In OH and WA recirc defrost has been fine for me.
