I signed a contract with Granger on 1/30/2023 and have been watching my Ford Pass for the ESP to show up. As of today it still doesn't show.

However, if you click on Service History in Ford Pass there is an entry by Granger for service, A/C and Unknown and a charge for $2630. I don't live in Iowa and have never been to Granger Ford. Anyone else see this in their Ford Pass Service History?

How much did you pay for the ESP?

Mine showed up in the Warranty section after a few days as Ford Protect ESP. However after I took my MME in for an ill-fitting side trim piece, to be covered under the basic warranty, I was surprised to see this. All they’ve done so far is look at the car and order the new plastic trim. Is the dealer skimming cash from Granger? (I also don’t live anywhere near Granger Ford.)

@HondaRacer, when did you purchase the warranty from Granger and how much did you pay for it?

Your local dealer can't skim money from the other dealer. Approved warranty claims are paid by Ford. An ESP is not a warranty.
I purchased from their website a couple weeks after I bought the car. All the prices are listed online. They sell ESP with essentially no markup. The ESP is synonymous with extended warranty. Ford uses both terms interchangeably.

I’m just curious why they appear to be processing my bumper-to-bumper claim through the ESP, but perhaps that is normal.

A service plan is different than a warranty. I think they put the "E" in "ESP" to further the sales illusion that it's an extended warranty. That's my personal opinion at any rate... I did buy an ESP on a prior Ford and I did use it a few times, but it wasn't the same as the original warranty.

Have they sent you the contract already? As long as you have the contract, it is good. If they haven't sent you the contract, they may not have finalized it yet with Ford.

My FE had an ESP on it that wouldn't show in FordPass, but the one I have on my GT does show.

Ford refers to their official extended warranties as “Extended Sevice Plans.” These are separate from the maintenance plan, which is perhaps what you are thinking of.

Completely normal. You should see the active contract in FP app by the 14th. I think Granger opens a repair order to charge the contract out and that is why you are seeing the service history show up. Mine did the same when I bought my contract from them last year. If the active contract does not show up after the 14th, I would contact them to see why.

Ok thanks. I have already contacted them twice, they say it can take up to 30 days. Funny part my Son just purchased a 2023 Ford Bronco and bought the plan from Granger, his showed up after only 6 days. He bought his a week prior to me. Go figure.

It has been just over 30 days since signing a contract with Granger and still do not have ESP shown in my Ford Pass account. The issue between Granger and Ford should not be an issue for the consumer to deal with. Very disappointing.

Interesting. I've been on the fence with buying mine. Question for you, did you pick up your MME used? I did and in some places I'm not listed as the owner of the car. I spoke to my service guy and he said after this set of repairs (the first under my name) I should then show up as the owner and get all the service records.

I have a wonky thing where the app tells me the previous service records of the previous owner. But the web site complains and says I'm not the owner, so I can't see them. Clearly the right hand doesn't speak to the left when it comes to Fordpass. If it's not showing in the app, check the ford website.

Just because you cannot see the policy in FordPass does not necessarily mean that a dealer cannot see it in their system when you take your car in for service.

No, I am the original owner, picked up on 10/25/2022.

I know that the ESP is under contract for years, it just would be nice to see on my account that Ford recognizes it.
