Checked in with dealership since the car needs the update too. Apparently they need to keep the car for half the day & can't provide a loaner vehicle.

What's the point of OTA if they need me to bring in the car for a software update?

With the new app version, anyone else have a recall alert in the top left corner of the main page, but when you click on it it just constantly spins loading?
It just started today.

Yes, I posted about this yesterday, back here: #62

However, the bickering about the effectiveness of the OTA overwhelmed my post.

Anyway, I found that this morning the never-ending swirling loading circle was gone, and I can now see the recall as the latest PAAK S/W update that must be done at a Dealer. I called my dealer Service Department for an appointment, and they will call me back after they hunt and see if they have the software to perform the update.

Odd. I didn’t have it yesterday, but I do have it today. In ETIS, it does show that there is a PAAK update required. Oh well.

Same for me. I saw it in owner.ford.com yesterday, but not in the app until today.

While PaaK is unreliable for me, I think the inconvenience of entering my backup start code is overall better than the inconvenience of a dealer visit.

So I'll continue to wait for these updates to be self-serviceable (i.e. OTA).

Looks like, for me, this version turns my phone into a nice handwarmer for a few hours at least--until the battery dies (or I kill Ford Pass whichever comes first).

(Android version)
Me as well. My battery life has gone to nothing. I'm at 25% now at 3:10. This phone usually goes all day and then some. And that is 25% with plugging it in periodically. This version is a battery killer.

There was a specific tweet by someone at Ford that said expect constant updates with many major fixes and features. “Newest one coming soon” and zero fixes from what I’ve seen so far.

I’m on my phone so I’m not gonna go around digging for the tweet right now.
This is quite selfish of you to say you don't see a need for a bug-fix OTA.

I've been noticing this from you for the past couple of months so I'm just going to say it. From what I've seen so far, you're the single and only person to not have any issues at all with the car.

If you don't have any issues, which at this point I'm beginning to think you do and just don't realize it, then just don't comment. Don't say anything and stop coming to defend Ford for literally everything wrong that 99.98% of other people are having.

It's almost as if anyone complains about their issues you're always the first one to try and come and just stop it in it's tracks like you secretly work for Ford or something. A suggestion is just stop commenting on comments where people say they have issues. At this point, we all recognize you and we know that you apparently have zero issues. Personally you're the only person who has zero issues. I've never seen a single other person here say they don't experience at least one problem.

If you're happy, fine. But stop trying to downplay literally everyone else.
Well let's make it two that have no issues. My car ,knock on wood, has-been perfect from day one. Seems like you only hear from the complainers and not not from people who are not having issues.

I can corroborate that. Fordpass has accounted for 52% of my battery consumption in the last 5 hours since I was at full charge (now at 10%). More than doubling my phone's consumption and I haven't even walked out to my car yet. Maybe PAAK is fixed, but at what cost?

/facepalm

Some of you really want to play with your lives and get a machine that can kill you updated frequently?
#notaprogrammer, but there’s probably a way to fix the Sync settings bugs without deactivating the car’s brakes or steering. Probably, right? And if there’s a legitimate risk that fixing these bugs could impact the brakes or steering, then would agree that that’s maybe an indictment of the software architecture?

I can virtually guarantee you that your car has at least some of the issues that have widely been reported. But they may not bother you, and that’s a-ok.

Listen if it makes you feel better that everyone is having issues with their car not just you have at it. But since you live in Kansas and I in Washington I find it highly unlikely you have any idea how my car performs or my demeanor towards a 60K cars perceived ? short comings.

You could probably stop right there ?

If bugs/defects were as predictable and easy to detect like you insist, then one would wonder why every piece of software in the world eventually comes across bugs…
As a former coder, I can say one reason is because my boss was always #notaprogrammer. ;)

Go to Settings > Vehicle > Alarm System > Motion Sensors and toggle that Off. Now turn off your car and hop out. Come back to your car and check that setting. Still Off?

No thanks. I think what I said was pretty self-evident, and at least one programmer in this thread has concurred. If the system architecture is so tangled up that squashing a sync bug inadvertently cuts the brakes or steering, that would be just stupid.

regardless, we’re not asking Ford to just wing it. They’ve had months on this.
