In short, preconditioning effectively makes the battery bigger, so you get more miles out of it.
Wait, wut? It gets bigger when it gets warm? The opposite of shrinkage?

@Ford Motor Company, please give us a way to precondition the battery from the FordPass app (in the next software update)

- The departure times does not always work in the app
- We don't have a set defined times to take the car out, We WFH I don't have a schedule to run for errands

Too bad I cant use "Set departure times" in my ford pass because it doesnt work @FordMotorCompany
Are you on Android 13? I have that same issue. Also have Bluetooth drop one every 5 mins.
Ford S/W version 3.5.4

I'm under the impression that there is no HVB precon possible when L1 charging. Correct?

Thanks for doing all this. Is preconditioning as necessary in warm temperatures? I’m going to guess the answer is a resounding “No!”

Agreed. @Ford Motor Company: Two items that are needed in the Ford Pass App are “Charge now” (we used to have this) and “Precondition now”.

I have only L1 110V at home. I was told that the car will use the L1 power to keep the battery compartment in the required temp and also precondition

According to Darren Palmer on Tom Moloughney's new vid the departure time doesn't matter so much, just set a departure time in the AM, and the vehicle will just pretty much stay pre warmed/ready to go for hours:



Of course that won't help on days you didn't know you were going to go anywhere in which case the precondition now would be key.
