So, to recap for those not interested in reading the first 37 pages of this thread,

  • June / July-ish started receiving Front Camera Fault sporadically
  • By August-ish Front Camera Fault turned permanent on, which brings loss of Cruise Control and other basic functions
  • August - Dealer trip #1 - Replace IPMB, perform 360 camera reset
  • Within 1 day, fault message re-appears, within a couple weeks becomes permanent again
  • September - Dealer trip #2 - Replace IPMA, perform 360 camera reset, reprogrammed APIM and TCU
  • Within 1 day, fault message re-appears, within about 4-5 weeks becomes permanent again
  • Late November - Dealer trip #3 - Replace Control Assy A/V unit, perform 360 camera reset
What, no spoiler alert???

Super! Make sure the SA & EV tech call the hotline as soon as the car rolls into the shop! The latest Intel shows a possible defective FC coaxial wire harness in the headliner. But, there could be other causes. Have faith man!

What dealer did you go to that got your problem sorted out?

Ken Grody Ford - Buena Park, CA. Their service Dept. EV tech tirelessly worked on my GT for weeks... not ever giving up! My SA is Jason.

Just got the car back from dealership fix attempt #3. This time, they replaced the Control Assembly Audio Visual Unit LJ8Z-19H405-K. Did another 360 camera reset.

LJ8Z-19H405-K is the IPMA. So they replaced it a THIRD time?

My earlier post in this thread includes shots of the other two invoices, but here is the relevant snippets. Hopefully someone can come back with a decoder ring and verify what parts were actually replaced based on these

So I currently have the permanent camera faults on my vehicle. I was on OTA 2.7.4 for about 6 months, then about 3 weeks ago I got 2.8.1 but nothing since. Most people I saw finally getting 2.8.1 received subsequent updates fairly quickly. Is it possible that i'm not getting any of the newer (Blue Cruise) OTA's because of my camera fault?

Dropped mine off last Monday the 28th. They haven’t even started working on it. This is the 3rd time and I’ve already started the buyback process. The service advisor has been working with the ford hotline so maybe they can fix it instead of having to buy it back.

No. But my dealer replaced my GWM (gateway module) which controls all vehicle telematics I believe. Probably was not defective but tech/SA noticed traffic maps weren't loading correctly on road tests. There is a TSB on these for MME's. They honestly just need to 1st check that initial coax cable harness run from the FC along the driver's side headliner.

Third attempt : things are working again - not sure from attached report exactly what was done. It says the IPMB module but then the IPMA module replaced. ?‍♂

Just got hit with the collision assist error. Weather has been coldish but nothing out of the ordinary (30-45 degrees F). The front camera seems to be working ok but I have the little yellow icon on my lower left dashboard.

I was already without my MME for a month because of the hvbjb failure...hoping this doesn't take another month.

So I've been getting Front Camera errors every so often on startup recently.

Sounds like the Ford hotline has some ideas on what to diagnose? Have you folks been waiting until you have failure of these systems while driving, or taking it in without the fault showing at the time? Are there DTC codes thrown that the dealer can verify to diagnose and fix?

I'm not looking forward to this, and deciding whether to wait until this becomes more of a problem than it is now before dealing with the hassle.
