I'm really curious if you learn anything about this. My driver's side has been doing something similar for a couple weeks. I just haven't had a chance to schedule something to take it in.

The button light never lights up anymore and pressing it the first time does nothing. If I press it again, it will usually unlock and then I might have to press a third time to get the door to open.

When I walk up to the driver's side, instead of the button lighting up, the number pad lights up - which is strange because I've never used it to set a code.

When I have a chance to take the frunk covers off, I'm going to try disconnecting the battery and see if that does anything (was reading another thread at some point that seemed to indicate that helped with a door/lock issue at some point).

Note: I do not use PAAK and had been unlocking just by pressing the button - not even with the FOB.
I had the same problem and it turned out to be a sensor. It was installed at no charge and has been fine ever since.

Yeah I’ve got an appointment scheduled. They said it’ll take a few days to fix.

Thanks for the info. Did they give you a loaner while they had it?

I’m hoping that they don’t have to keep it for that long ??
Yes they gave me a loaner.

I have an appointment scheduled for Monday for mine (I have not reached out to the account here - not sure what they'd actually be able to offer over just taking it in).
Let us know what happens. Interested to hear the resolution.

Plus it’s good to know for when I take mine in.

Dealer says it's a button panel, I think it was? Part is on order and should be in Wed or maybe Thurs. I have an appointment Thurs afternoon to install. Not sure if that means the whole B pillar cover with the keyless entry keypad or what. Will follow up again.

Thanks for the update. Did they mention how long the install might be?

I'm going to see what the diagnosis is, and if they have to order parts, which I'm assuming they will be, make an appointment for after the part comes in, especially if they don't provide a loaner. Don't want to have it just sitting there, when it's still driveable.

Service guy things "about an hour" based on other button panel installs. My sales guy thinks it'll be shorter than that.

Great. Thanks for the info. I will see what they say the issue is when I get mine in

Thanks for sharing your issues and the expected resolution. I'm also experiencing problems with my outside door locks. In particular, I often can't unlock and open the rear doors until one of the front doors is opened first. Which is annoying as I usually need to open the rears first and sometimes don't need to open the front at all.

I have a Ford mobile service scheduled for later this month to rotate my tires and begin diagnosing a variety of issues. The dealership tells me that they can schedule mobile service work for a maximum of two hours at a time and so I will need at least four (4!) mobile service visits before all of my issues can be resolved...

The first visit to begin diagnosing issues took a long time to schedule. I'm hoping the other visits can be quickly scheduled in succession...

I’m sure it’s the case, but did you set your locks to open all doors?

And didn’t realize that the mobile service has a limit. That’s sucks that you to have them come out 4 times before they can get everything done. At the point, it may be easier to just take it to the dealer

It's about an hour, but they have to remove the inside door panel to get to the upper door trim to get to the bolts on the back that hold the panel on.
I'm currently having all 4 of mine replaced. The Front 2 had already been replaced 11 months ago. They're getting replaced again.
Also i was told this isn't covered once outside the 3/36. Possibly even a PITA to get covered by the ESP. I have a 8/100k ESP on mine and got my panels booked at 35991 miles.

That’s a lot of removal to just get that button fixed.

Yeah, it's not ideal but I've never done mobile service before so thought I'd give it a shot. This dealer is far away and inconveniently located for me, and of course they don't offer loaners. If my issues were more serious I'd suck it up but I can live with the delay.

So mine is still not fixed. They had it in for an hour and a half yesterday. The part they put in yesterday did clear some communication error code they were seeing on the button but apparently didn't actually fix the actual functional problem (no light, press multiple times to open). So they ordered another part yesterday that's supposed to arrive this morning and I'm going up again this afternoon.

Not thrilled. But I can't tell if it's just a lack of service knowledge (never seen this problem before, poor diagnosis, or what) or just a really bizarre problem that isn't easy to fix.

I'm not sure what this second part is but he did say it's a bigger part that they have to take more of the door apart to swap - like remove the glass and stuff. So who knows. Maybe this is the "sensor" that someone else had mentioned having replaced.
