I may have to take up the mantle to get our parking sensors chips.
That could be worthwhile, if challenging. Ford has just let this "incomplete build" issue drift until forgotten and we have all heard that the feature isn't very useful anyway, so have been somewhat complicit. However, it was definitely implied/started that there would be later availability, so - a promise unfulfilled. Even an update saying this will never happen would close the loop. How about it @Ford Motor Company ?

I shall take up your mantle @Jimrpa. Just read this thread so I went out to check the wife’s car. Still no frunk release on the Sync Screen and while I can push a button in FordPass, it does nothing. So I shall champion the OTA frunk release.

You got the button in FordPass without the modules being updated? I thought that’s what Ford was trying to avoid with holding back the FordPass button for so long. I guess checking for module versions before adding the button was just too much. Now we’ll have to wait and see how long it takes for the rest of us to get the FordPass button.

It’s more than a promise, I signed something when I bought the car, so that’s something I can bring to a lawyer if need be.
As far as the features usefulness, I’m not so much concerned with park assist, I want my side parking sensors active though. Right now cars shipped without the chips only have the front and rear sensors active, the side ones are dormant. Those are useful and can be critical when the 360 cam is blocked by rain or dirt.

I know it’s because I haven’t visited the dealer for a gwm or whatever update. I wanted to see if Ford could honor their promise to ACTUALLY get it done over the air.

Man - when I asked the dealer for that FDRS update I said "I can do it in FDRS by renewing for $50. So if you can do it for cheaper, please" and he said "you better do it. We change a minimum of $150/hr"

I have yet to do the update myself lol

No Frunk release on FordPass for me either. No updates either.

My dealer updated all modules on my 2021 Job 1 mach-e, including BCM/GFM, on July 28th and confirmed using FDRS on August 1st. I have the trunk button but not the Frunk button on the sync settings screen.

I don't have the window up/down buttons or frunk/trunk buttons on the ford pass home screen either. But I assume you need to have PAAK set-up for that. Maybe I'll finally have a reason to set-up PAAK now.

Good, this hopefully means the button will be there for everyone in FordPass and will become functional after getting the required module updates done on the car, which are fairly straightforward. No more gatekeeping the frunk button.

Make sure you're updated to the latest version of the app (4.29.1 on iOS), force quit the app, and reboot your phone. Hopefully it shows up then. If not, then maybe the software in your car isn't updated enough.

I‘ve quit the app and rebooted the phone, but the frunk button still remains elusive for me. Maybe the gatekeeper only allows one frunk button to slip out per day.

No frunk button here either, but frankly I don't care, that space is so useless that I rarely open it.
