MME fobs in North America don't have a frunk button on them (unless somebody buys a Lightning fob). "Remote frunk release" generally means any electronic method of opening the frunk. Which is all the ways besides manually pulling the lever twice.

Your dealer can update your FRUNK module so it opens from the center screen, and the door code thing. It still wont open from your phone though since thats a server side change.

The dealer needs to do 3 things with FDRS:

1. Update the BCM
2. Update the GFM
3. Run the "Enable Center Display Screen Hood Release Soft Button" routine

That will add a frunk button to the Sync screen, allow you to open the frunk from the keypad on the door, enable the emergency button inside the frunk, and allow you to use a fob with a frunk button (purchased separately).

The dealer update is fairly worthless. Even if the frunk release is added to infotainment screen, the car has to be on and you have to tap into settings just to open the frunk. You might as well pull the mechanical lever twice.

Even the dealer software update cannot add the frunk release to FordPass, which is about the only added frunk functionality that might be useful.

This is extremely low on my issue list because I seldom use the frunk. But it’s aggravating because it should be so easy to fix and yet, Ford does not, whether intentionally or by neglect. Emblematic of a bigger problem - that’s what annoys me.

It's also useful to have it on the fob (for those who carry fobs). If any Job 1 owners haven't gotten their free 2nd fob yet, you can buy a Lightning fob with a frunk button and then use the "free fob" CSP to get reimbursed by Ford.

If the dealer update allows opening from the door keypad as well, that is a huge improvement. You don't even have to open the door or pull twice. And let's say you live in an area of the country where having anything visible in the car puts you at risk of a broken window, frunks are extremely useful.

I'm sure they'd be happy to collect your VIN and dealership info to look into your concern on their end.

Maybe it is time to confront Ford with EU consumer laws. (one of the strictest in the world with extended consumer-rights tailored to German citizens) As a company you can/will be held accountable if you break promises. (which they definitely did ; their OTA promise at launch) Maybe a German consumer organization can file a complaint and class action with this in mind.

I have two friends with late Model S's. Both of them say the same thing about Tesla's OTA's, "Uh-Oh, What did it break now?" There is no perfect system.

Here’s the latest from Ford Customer Service and my dealer says that there are no current updates.

Yes, exactly... ? For everyone who has working updates, January was last update 3.5.2.1 and even then was expected "big things coming soon"... I wish there is massive update coming anytime now.... ? Maybe the same IPC as F150 lightning has.

I wrote about this on another post as a Job 1 owner I would love to get a working Frunk button as well. @Ford Motor Company please do that for us early adopters who supported your new EV and went through the pain of a barely working PAAK, Recalls on the windshield and roof, stuck updates, multiple resets when we did get updates other recalls that sent us to the dealers multiple times, one FOB, etc etc
