Oh good, can't wait for more non-Tesla drivers on the road to be unwittingly part of a beta test.

If people hate driving this much and would like to be driven around poorly, then please just take an Uber.
I agree that the prior versions functioned poorly. But the most recent version 14.xx is a game changer.

To me it seems the anti-FSD postings here are like reading a rant from an EV hater on a diesel truck forum. As I say to EV haters please don’t judge until you try it. You may like it if you try it.

I was not convinced about how useful FSD is and how it improves safety until I used the newest October 2025 version of FSD for several weeks. Initially I was apprehensive but I’m now a convert.

Please keep an open mind and perhaps schedule a demo drive. It is unnerving at first giving up control. It’s the future.

Oh cool, a discussion about Tesla...

Yep. That’s why it’s in the “Mach-e vs the Competition” sub forum.

it’s always nice to expanded one’s field of knowledge.

I personally don’t like Elon‘s politics or his other traits but if it weren’t for the competition that Tesla provided Ford would never have built the Mach-e.

Valid point. Didn't realize the sub-fourm this was posted on. As for Tesla, hard pass. Couldn't care less about any or all of its capabilities. Don't need to expand my knowledge in that space. Cheers.

Oh fun! $99 a month for the opportunity to be driven through a wall, Wyle-E-Coyote style,
and then get cooked, well done, when you can’t find the emergency door release. All while the CEO lies and makes an ass out of himself.
Meep meep zoooooom 💥🏎

FSD in the UK is £6,800. I will never pay that much. (Whoops, let the cat out of the bag) 🤣 If on a subscription it would probably be £99 the same as $. (Rip off Britain again). Hopefully you could start and stop the subscription at will depending on the type of journeys you wish to undertake. IF the EU/UK lift restrictions on it's use it might become viable. It can't drive any worse than some BMW/Audi drivers I see daily.

When I become too old and decrepit to drive, it could become a lifeline for those in rural areas (including myself) where public transport is practically non existent. After all no public transport goes anywhere near my favourite garden centre restaurants. 😭I'm thinking ahead as this Model Y will probably be my last car and I will need to keep it for some years.

Sorry, Teslaeater (Mark)

I judge FSD by the company it keeps, regardless of version. People doing make up, people shaving, people watching movies on iPads, all hands off and all without a thought to the road. All things I have personally seen. I’d say it doesn’t concern me because I’ll never own a a Tesla, but it does since I’m on the road with them.

When we leased our 2024 Lightning BlueCruise was on the sticker for $2,100 for 3 years. It was considered a subscription that could not be removed. As a subscription the full charge was applied to the lease payment and could not be residualized. It added $58/month to the lease payment. 99% of the time the roads I drive on are not BlueCruise enabled so it‘s useless to me. Tesla FSD works everywhere. It works on dirt roads, my driveway, my garage, parking lots etc. The roads don’t need to be mapped.

Ford Mustang Mach-E FSD subscription only after Feb.15th. IMG_0565

Sparse BlueCruise Map in South Florida. It’s only mapped for certain interstate highways.

But that's true for every option on a vehicle you buy that you don't order. ProPower 9.6kW. I don't want it. Too bad, it's on the vehicle, whether you like it or not. The only difference is that this "option" is only for 3 years.

Had you ORDERED your truck, you likely would have had the ability to pick the 90 day trial and save the money.

I suspect the # of people that USE 9.6kW is a fraction of owners.

Just for context from someone who has been following this for years. EVERY release of FSD that has come out had been followed by non-stop. "so yeah, that last version wasnt that great, but now this is a game changer!" Then the following year "so yeah that was garbage, but NOW we have a gamechanger....."

It might very well finally be there, but having heard that ad nauseum has gotten old.

Mach-e is so fun to drive I only let the car drive on long highway trips, and BC has done awesome at that. For our use, and where we live, I still prefer to drive.

Ford was inflexible and while the BlueCruise subscription could be turned off they didn’t offer that as an option. If it’s on the window sticker you must pay for it. In 3 years they turn it off unless you pay subscription to extend it.

I understand when there is hardware installed that you are required to pay for it, but software that can be turned on and off at will shouldn’t be mandatory for 3 years.

Again, you bought a truck off the lot. Had you ordered one, you could have gotten the 90 day trial. Nothing new as compared to buying a vehicle ever - if you don't want the options on a vehicle on the lot, order one. If you can't order it without an option that you don't want, don't buy it.

I agree with everything you stated. My preference normally is to special order vehicles.

In the last 10 years I've bought 12 new Ford trucks. 10 of them were either F-350 or F-450 Super Duty trucks and the other 2 were EV Lightnings. Every one was special ordered by me exactly the way I wanted it EXCEPT for my 2 Lightnings. They were dealer stock trucks. The last one was bought $25,000 under MSRP after Dealer Discounts, Rebates, Incentives and tax credits, so I'm not complaining. The dealer told me that even though BlueCruise was on the window sticker, Ford had removed it and reinvoiced the truck. When I took ownership and realized it was still on the truck the Finance manager told me that the cost had been removed from the lease agreement. When I went over the deal paperwork and proved the F&I guy that he was wrong he reimbursed me with the full cost equivalent in Ford Pass points. That is why I have 132,997 point still available after buying multiple items with my points.

It is just that the 2024 Lightning came with a paid 3 years subscription for BlueCruise and Ford refused to delete it and remove the cost. If I remember correctly my 2023 came without BlueCruise and I had option of enabling it after the purchase for a fee.
