When I was growing up, our ICEs were total junkers, gas stations were not 24-hours and credit cards were something only the rich had. We would carry jerry cans full of gasoline in our trunk.

I will never again carry spare fuel inside of a vehicle cabin.
Same here. Paid with cash. When when a station did accept a credit card, it was usually the gas station chain's own card.

Or maybe Mastercharge or Bank Americard. And you had to go inside to have the cashier slide one of those carbon copy slips over it.

My snowblower ran out of gas so I had to go fill my little gas can. First trip to the gas station in nine months! It was as annoying as I remembered it. I was so careful and I still spilled gas on my gloves and in Sheeba's boot (she was not happy). The smell, ugh. Yah hard pass. I'll spend four grand on an Ecoflow Delta or something before I lug around a gas generator in my MME.

You have to put the gas can in the frunk, no smell, no mess. I enjoy the once/twice a year trip to fill my gas can in my EV, its like filling the propane tank, which also goes perfect in the frunk

Ah but I keep my reusable shopping bags in my frunk. Definitely don't want any gasoline spilling in there.

If I was going to do something like that......it would be a 240V gen set.
And I would remove the tub in the front compartment and bolt it down into place.
I’m late to the party, but this is awesome. Basically, buy an EV and then add an ICE back under the hood. Ha.
