Today I noticed that there's a GSM Module update available. This module CAN NOT be updated OTA.

EDIT: It would appear that this update finally showed up in a TSB as documented here.

This is interesting as it's the first update that I've seen that Ford cannot address via OTA. I'm not saying that they have addressed anything OTA, but that's beside the point.

WARNING: If you have stumbled on this thread, we have reports that the initial update is not very welcomed by the car but eventually takes without issue. Update at your own risk - or just don't update the car until we get a TSB on it. I'll keep posted here with any changes. This is not something that we have any reason to believe you NEED right now. So don't go bothering your dealer until we get more information.

Here's the list of OTA available modules: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/ota-updates-technical-info.4923/

That's interesting, because Darren Palmer specifically said it would be updatable OTA in his interview with InsideEV.

Just going based on the list of OTA available modules per others threads. I added the link to that in my original post.

Did he specifically say the GSM module could be? I don't want to watch a 100 minute video for a quick blurb. If someone could post the video link with the point in time in which he said that it would be interesting.

that's a good question. I skimmed the video briefly but couldn't find it. Maybe I'm wrong about which modules he mentioned.

I thought when some early deliveries revealed the 12v issue, they had to do the update that fixed that issue in person at the dealership but perhaps OTA just wasn’t available for it yet?

Because Lord Polymath and I can't possibly be remembering correctly? ?

The video is 100 minutes. The interview is at the beginning, and is 45 minutes. Anyone can easily find the spot, but for the internet challenged, I made a link with the exact time. The exact words he says are "I mentioned earlier the car is fully OTA updatable, every single module, even the shift controller, not sure what we're going to do with it". I guess it's easier to question what people say he said then to actually watch the video. ;)

Honestly ARK, it could be on the early builds. I'm just going based on what I've seen from running close to 50 VINs. Everything was on the OTA update list until this GSM update that popped up this morning.

If you have a problem with me, DM me. I'm here to help others out and if asking politely for you to find something, while I'm running VINs for other members is that big of a deal, you should just stay quiet. If you don't have something good to say, don't say it at all.

Nothing much to update. I’ve broken the car. The SOBDMC module is not happy with this update. I have “Stop Immediately “ every time I turn car on. Clearing CMDTCS doesn’t work. Car drives but really not happy
