Not sure why people treat posts like this as a personal disrespect to their self being. It's an honest and realistic take on the current state of EVs. Things have gotten better but it will be years before things improve to the level needed to support widespread adoption.
I agree. When asked if I like my Mach E I reply that I love it but that EV’s in general aren’t ready for ā€œprime timeā€ yet due to EVSE infrastructure (lack of DC fast chargers along routes) and battery technology/characteristics IMHO. I also tell them that I bought a SR battery and things would be better for me in the winter with an ER battery (also have AWD). Things will /are are improving and in the next couple of years the EVSE stations will be robust enough to overcome any problems I’m having now. I brag about it’s torque and incredible acceleration and when I get into my ICE Acura SUV I miss that.

I was going to buy the SR believing that the advertised range of around 270 was correct.

Then someone told me range suffers if you use heating etc so cancelled my order and got the ER.

Perhaps the advertising should have ranges listed for summer and winter types of weather so the buyer is better informed.

Sorry to hear, but I disagree. 10,000 miles in the last seven months, lots of use of the motorway network and no issues depsite living in very rural Cumbria.
Nice area to live. My Mom is from Scotby/Corby Hill and when I was in the USAF I was stationed at a RAF base in Cambridgeshire. I used to regularly visit my grandmother in Carlisle and my other relatives in Edinburgh. Not safe but I used to transport 15-20 gallons of petrol in my trunk for the return trip. Gas was too expensive on the economy. I was young and dumb. lol

Yep, range suffers most with cold temps. And, perhaps the WLTP ratings should more accurately reflect reality.

I think it isn't obvious at time of purchase that you need to work all this out otherwise we wouldn't have people like this having to abort their ownership.
