Well I actually got the Service Vehicle Soon warning the day after I got it out of the dealership. It was a very hot 100+ degree day and happened as soon as I started the MME leaving Costco. Backing out of parking space I had no power steering and that remained all the way home. I parked in garage and let it sit till that night when we went out for dinner. No more warning or issues, at this point it is staying local in case it fails. I do have the safety recall 22V412 letter, given my repeated dealership service issues I'm just too worn out to deal with them with a ton of real life issues now so I'm waiting.

You should ge the HVBJB replaced as soon as you are personally ready. I would make that a top priority. The longer you drive, the more likelihood it will totally fail and leave you stranded.

Oh I agree, which is why MME stays local, I cannot fully explain the shear total lack of dealership support, I know if I bring it in now all they will do is this sw update, they are ridiculous incompetent. As sad as this sounds I need this to totally fail otherwise I'm wasting my time with them.

SVS comes on for multiple reasons, and I doubt it's the HVBJB - since your power steering went out (which isn't a normal thing to fail with HVBJB failures). I had a 2013 Fusion that would do the same thing, and a restart of the car fixed it. Never found the root cause of it, but wasn't a big enough deal to stop me driving thousands of miles over a couple years to WV for a long-distance relationship.

I think the bigger issue here is his charging networks one thing that Tesla did was create charging networks that were relatively easy to go to use can you read it I'm sure they have the same similar problems as other EV cars but there is a level of confidence there when you travel. Unfortunately for my vehicle in particular although I worry about it breaking. I'm more concerned about being somewhere where I need to charge and the charger is not working I have come across from the situation California where chargers for whatever reason don't want to work and even if they get reset by the vendor they still don't work now if I go back to the same charger the next day and works go figure. This is led me to believe that this is one of the biggest features that holds back the battery power world charging from home always seems to work fine although with a Ford charger it does fault so I always check 10 minutes after I plug it in and sure enough his fault and I re-plug it in and everything's fine to full charge in this happens every time. You have the thing I have to say is is the fit and finish on my particular vehicle on the interior parts is not so great the materials and the finishes seem to mar easily and stain easily. The thing of course is this whole over the air updating thing although Ford has come up with an over there update that causes cars not to just fault and stop in the middle of the road they will still require service so that really doesn't solve the problem with the current recall. Currently I didn't let my wife use the card to commit to work three days a week which she absolutely loves because she saves about 40 minutes a day because she gets to use the carpool line and she can plug it into a 110 charger and get about 25 miles to help offset having to charge it home for those three days . So am I gonna get rid of it at some point I will but we have three cars so if it breaks at least we have something to back us up. Another Ford electric vehicle probably not. I believe Ford has made a tremendous amount of missteps in the treatment of the customers in certain areas and when you launch a new product you better make sure you have all your start a new tees crossed otherwise you can get people to buy something but they'll never rebuy it. I've affectionately named my Mach E EV expensive golf cart. Because it dries and handles like a golf cart. It has many features like a golf cart you plug it in and has a knob that you turn from one drive mode to another similar to a golf cart. It is very quick acceleration but subsides over a few seconds just like the mach e . Range is limited to of course the batteries that it uses but again if you charge it home it works great so if you take it anywhere out of your normal course of business and use the word course light golf course in a golf cart. I know many people to spend a fortune on these things he continue to praise them and worship them are going to be upset with my words and I am sorry. I am not a hater I am just being a realist it is a very expensive golf cart it's fun to drive it's fun being able to park in certain spaces when you're in crowded areas and it's fun to use the carpool lane when commuting. And sure I'm not burning gas but gas is still one of the most efficient ways to travel the infrastructure efficiency etc. much more in place and I feel until I put charging stations at every gas station the whole thing is just a giant experiment and that's OK experiments are good. So I agree although a long answer I agree a long road trip in this car you're taking a lot of risk and being stuck wasting hours of your day charging on slow chargers etc. getting places when you can just get in a gas powered vehicle drive 260 miles m fill up again drive 260 miles fill up again etc.

I also have been questioning whether or not to get a MME. I'm planning on spending 60k+ on my 1st EV and obviously I don't want it to be a big fail. I'm hoping that the 23s have some of the gremlins removed and that the Vapor Blue Metallic is awesome. We'll see.
Are you listening, Ford? You know you have a problem.

Ford's 'self-inflicted' recalls, warranty costs put automaker at competitive disadvantage
Ford Mustang Mach-E Goodbye Mach e 636814582754253640-Howard-110118-111-1-

According to Warranty Week data, Ford towered over its competitors in per vehicle budgeting in 2021: Ford was $1,041 — up from $940 in 2020. General Motors was $713, up from $498 in 2020. Hyundai was $651, down from $1,171 in 2020.Jun 24, 2022

How much does Ford spend on warranty?

In 2019, GM paid out just over $3 billion, up about 4% from 2018 levels. Ford paid out $4.56 billion, an increase of $201 million from 2018 levels. And Tesla paid out $250 million, a 20% increase from the year before .Mar 5, 2020
Why should I care? Because as a stockholder, ridiculous warranty expenditures are money out of my pocket. Ford stock is doing well despite these costs, but all Ford lovers should be concerned for a company that spends more on warranty repairs than all their peers do. More than GM? WTF!

Are you listening, Ford?

Hope this guy's next name on whatever forum he goes to is "Wreck-It Ralf"... Because, wrecking this thread was his sole intention obviously.

I even found him a nice Avatar to go with ;):

No idea why people are being mean. It is just a car. I still have so many software glitches that annoys me. And a door panel rattle sound that I can't get rid of. I know ford is going the cheap route on the HVBJB issue, fix after breakdown instead of full replacement. Not surprised someone would want to sell, especially when the used Mach e price is good right now.

Anyway, i am more curious on what your next car will be. Going back to ICE or a new EV?
Front passenger door? There is an unsecured something in there for sure.

It is the driver door. Probably can't hear the sound on the passenger side. I like my car interior Rolls Royce quiet. I can't handle any of those interior rattling. Been trying to nail down which part for a while. No interior parts are loose. Finally got real close to the culprit. It was the door trim part hitting the door gasket. Once I put the finger between the gap, it stops the noise. I have been putting foam tapes around the door opening gaskets to seal the contact between the door trim and the gasket. Definitely half design issue, half bad luck. If the gap is any tighter or wider, there would not be such rattle sound.

Ford has a quality issue per recall data from the NTSA over the last 10 years. The CEO has also said as much. Yes, other manufacturers have issues but not to the degree that Ford, GM and Chrysler do.

I have owned 2 Ford's and overall I like them, but the Japanese makers are much more reliable.

Any idea why that is? Are they smarter than us?

when I was passing grapevine on I-5 I remembered every post I saw about bricked MME because of contacts. I would feel much better if Ford replace contacts instead of providing workaround patch that did not fix the issue. I know, I'm not alone
Funny you mention that, ours failed the first time Christmas eve last year once we made it over the grapevine heading towards Palmdale. We got stranded just outside Lancaster. Ours is at 48k miles and had the second HVJB replaced last month. Hoping the updated part will last now....

Although the Mach e has many fine features, I cannot rely on it to take a trip of several hundred miles to see my relatives. I cannot take the chance of having my car brick. The software update plainly does not adequately resolve this issue. It is untenable that Ford will not properly address this problem. I am going to sell this vehicle and buy something that I can rely on
I was worried about that also. I was lucky though the day after the software update I had the HJVB failure. The update did prevent the bricking and car was drivable at highway speeds just a little slower acceleration. Ford replaced the HVJB with the newer version and now no more worries.
