Assuming you will be using the provided level 2 charger from Ford, it will only add around ~20 miles of range for each hour it is plugged in, and that's assuming you get the full 32A. Some campgrounds will provide a 240V plug but not 32A. Driving 200 miles and recharging for that range will require an approximate charge time of 10hrs. Keep that in mind when planning your route based on level 2 charging stops.

Alsmo make sure the campground is providing a NEMA 14-50 plug otherwise you'll need to get an adapter. If they provide a NEMA 14-30 plug then you know right up front you won't have the full 32A. Might suggest making sure of the connector type as well as V and A at campgrounds you plan on charging at.

Good point, thanks. This is exactly why I recently purchased a mobile charger that allows me to vary how much current it draws and delivers to the car. My goal is to maximize the charging rate from a campground hookup.

The KOA campground I plan to use has 50 amp hookups that I can use. I'll set my mobile charger on 40 amps, the maximum continuous load allowed on a 50 amp circuit. That way, I hope to duplicate the rate of charge I get at home with my 240 volt wall charger.

Drive the slowest possible speed on the flattest road you can find.

Bluecruise. Fewer rapid or sustained pedal bursts. Summer.

I have been experimenting with my GT on my 50 mile commute. I have a primarily highway route and a back country road route. On the latter I average about 45mph (mostly because of slower cars and no passing zones) and I get 3.7 to 3.9 mi/kWh consistently. On the highway route I drive 62-65mph avgerage and I get 3.4-3.5 mi/kWh. If I go 70-72mph I get 3.1-3.3 mi/kWh. And I have pegged getting 3.0 mi/kWh at about 75-77mph average. Of course this is summer.

With your 91KW of capacity at 100% you can compute your range with the above parameters - again assuming relatively flat road and no serious headwinds

I have no clue how you can get those numbers unless my GTPE is even less efficient than the GT and climate/AC eats up more power than I think it does.

My Premium AWD ER I was getting 3.0 mi/kWh (over 70mph, 3.3 mi/kWh if 55-70mph) and now I am averaging 2.7 mi/kWh everywhere in my GTPE. Of course I drive 75mph whenever I can. lol

I recently traded in my RWD ID4 and I was getting about 0.5 mi/kWh or more above those ranges…

Here is yesterday’s commute. I stopped at Starbucks before the last 5 miles or so home so it’s just the 45 miles on the hiway and the last 5 miles are backroads. I was bluecruise mostly 65mph on this one

Everyone has already given some really good advice. The only additional thing I would mention - check your tire pressure and bring a tire inflator to add air when needed. At a minimum, make sure your tires are at the PSI indicated for your particular tires. I have the GTPE and i believe my PSI setting is 39. If you want a little extra range, you could consider going 1 PSI above at 40 PSI (when cold of course).

And don't assume because you just picked up the car from the dealership that the tires are already at the desired PSI level. When I picked up my MME 2 weeks ago, the PSI's were actually a bit low.

You can get an auto shut off tire inflator. I have one made by Ryobi. You set the desired PSI level and the inflator automatically shuts off once it reaches that level.

My PSI is 39/40. They were a tad underinflated at the dealership (37) and inflating them to the correct amount actually made it a tad bouncier. I'm not convinced the GTPE suspension is any better than the other trims for daily driving... but at high speed I do notice a difference.

Make sure you have your AC set to "Auto" so the system can manage power use. This makes a HUGE difference in the winter, since it can use the seat heaters to warm your backside rather than trying to keep the air warm.

Als, if the temp outside is decent, you can turn the AC off but still be in Auto, and it will keep circulating air, which keeps you from getting all stagnant. I often leave the AC off, unless I'm in traffic on the highway, really. If you can't use 4/60 AC, it's the next best thing.
