Anybody considering hard wiring a radar detector?

I have the 48-Amp Ford Connected Radar Detector on order.Anybody considering hard wiring a radar detector?
Did you take a photo? I’d love to see the tap configuration. If not, would it be much trouble??I tapped into the mirror power and so far I see no difference in dash v mirror mount.
As if your 12V battery isn't draining fast enough!I have the 48-Amp Ford Connected Radar Detector on order.
Ideally, you attach to a circuit that isn’t always hot.As if your 12V battery isn't draining fast enough!
That is a key or you have unplug the cord at the detector.Ideally, you attach to a circuit that isn’t always hot.
Is the mirror circuit always hot? I would assume that's something that gets turned off after a few min of the vehicle being off. That is a key or you have unplug the cord at the detector.
Should I assume I have to venture on my own here? ? ?I tapped into the mirror power and so far I see no difference in dash v mirror mount.
I haven't used a radar detector in a long time, but even in the age of Waze, the app only tells you what it's been told already. It's not going to tell you about the speed trap that hasn't been reported yet. So, if you believe radar detectors can actually detect speed traps (*), then all the apps are doing is reducing the value proposition, not removing it.Serious question: Waze, for me at least, has made the need for radar detectors pretty much non existent. Why the push for one when a free app does almost as well and can be used with a simple Bluetooth connection?
