I have had my Mach-E for three weeks now. Tonight we went to a fast casual restaurant and parked outside. When we returned to the car after eating someone had spilled or thrown dipping sauce on the right rear quarter panel of the car. It was too high up to have splashed there if someone accidentally dropped the sauce on the ground. And there was no parking allowed next to the car where the sauce was deposited so it was unikey that someone spilled it as they walked by. My wife is concerned that there are some anti-EV/anti-Mach-E folks around and worries about driving the car now. Has anyone else run into a similar situation of disdain or benign vandalism?
Luckily I haven’t but EVs are becoming a political hot topic. Trump just spoke in Michigan with anti EV BS. Going to cancel the EV tax credits and change the EV mandates if elected. So I can see more incidents like this happening.

Americans by our nature do not like mandates.

The infrastructure is nowhere near capable of handling EV’s for the masses.

what has been built so far as far as charging stations by the government? I think like 7.

No vandalism I can prove yet but I've been approached while charging so someone could rant at me about EVs.

My wife's car has had a dent in the door so deep I can't help but imagine it was caused intentionally. We both park in large spaces or end spaces for more room to the car next to us.

Then there's the aggressive driving around us we've noticed to a much higher degree with these cars than our past ones.

None of this is important to the conversation because we, as EV owners, don't care what someone else's impression of mandates are and it doesn't have any bearing on whether or not we or our cars should be subject to their aggressions.

No. Just comments that it’s not a real Mustang.
Somebody once asked if it was a Tesla but they’re recovering in hospital now ?

And the person who asked if it was a Jaguar, well……..⚰ RIP

There are people who oppose electric. There are people who believe gasoline is evil.

Which group do you think is larger?

The infrastructure in North America is honestly capable now in many places. We need a lot more public charging, sure, but more stations are opening every day (and there's WAY more than 7 NEVI-funded chargers out there).

And the whole "the grid can't handle it" thing appears to be way overblown. Norway's up to 40% EVs and their national consumption is actually FALLING. Zero indication that EV charging is making any appreciable difference in North America so far, even though they're getting pretty common in some regions.

Thanks to all for your comments and good wishes. I am happy that no one has had any similar experiences. I hope this was just an accident and an isolated one, at that.

Go check out social media comments on any EV article or advertisement if you want a general idea.

And when I filled up with gasoline I never once gave it a second thought as to whether or not someone might approach me for an argument or a fight over the fact that I was filling up with gasoline.

There are jerks in the world. Nothing new there. In the three years with my MME I’ve had 4 “bad experiences.” I’ve had 2 separate instances of people yelling at me over the reverse beep. Both times they were blocking the car so I couldn’t back up. I’ve had two people get angry over the mustang logos.

Clean it up and move on. Odds are high you’ll never run into that sort of stuff again @CameraCarl. Enjoy the new car. :)

That will give you one side of the story. For the other side, look at all the examples of radical climate activism and eco terrorism.

These guys, for example:

https://apnews.com/article/germany-climate-protests-last-generation-8c0781adb359f9f66cad194139eafbba#:~:text=The Last Generation group frequently, orange paint, among other things.

Yup. So this happened recently at the New York Autoshow.

Dumping Oil on F150 Lightning

I am glad it wasn't on the MME. I'm not sure what are these folks protesting on?
- Environmentalist getting upset at more gasoline trucks.... did they not know the Lightning that they oiled is an EV? They just dumped liters of oil all over.
- Anti-EV buying engine oil to dump on an EV?

It's just bizarre.
