I, too, was thrilled that they named it Mustang.This is my first Mustang. And it being a Mustang was a big selling point for me. Had they launched the Ford Fairlane BEV or the Ford Galaxie 500 BEV or something equally stupid (I’m looking at YOU Ford Tempo), I would have closed the webcast window immediately, hopped onto ETrade and sold my F stock.
Similarly, I'm happy that they chose F-150 as their second BEV vehicle.
It shows, to me, that Ford is invested enough in BEVs that they'll put two of the most recognizable vehicle brands on the line to bring BEVs to market. More than any words they could have said, the choice of name communicated their commitment.
At least that's my take on it.
