Which temp setting have you been using during pre-conditioning, medium or warm?
Medium. I tried Warm once and it was like an oven in there. Never again. :)

Hi. I've had my MME for a week now, and the heater has come on suddenly full blast by itself 4 times. (I shut it down before waiting to see if it would ramp down on its own.) I also noticed a small puddle of what appeared to be water under the car in the garage. Is this what you're referring to?
Did you accidentally hit the max defrost button?

puddle is condensation from ac and is normal

Lol with how warm the seat is on cool i can imagine what warm is like. That seat on full blast, Ford better be careful that Cosmo Kramer doesn't sit on it

I can confirm at 30-40f the e-heat wants to stay on when in auto or whenever you turn on the front defroster/defogger
No.

If you only have the vents set to screen or use AUTO then the Eheat toggles ON and you can not turn it off.

If you then also set the vents to go to the middle as well as screen you can unset Eheat.

Temp also has nothing to do with it.

Following on from that, with Eheat turned off it means it recycles the heat from the battery etc (but not the motors) and in this cold climate, there isn't any!

Therefore you need eheat selected in order to warm up the car except in summer!

I will test tomorrow but I suspect that auto will turn on the fan, e-heat, ac, seat warmer and steering wheel warmer in really cold weather. Itll be close to 30 tomorrow morning so I'll see.
No it doesn't turn on your seat warmers and heating steering wheel.

The temp has to do somethjng with it because in the summer if I set it to auto i could turn off e-heat.

The operation in the UK must be different because you can absolutely turn off E-heat when in Auto mode here in the US. I do it all the time.

I really believe its temp related. When its cold outside e-heat turns back on, but this summer it stayed off

What I’ve found is that if you turn off E-heat, it stays off until you hit the Auto button again. So if you switch from level 3 auto to level 2 auto, E-Heat will turn back on.

Going back to that concept of the eheat not needed and the battery heat can do the job, I tried that for a week and never got any heat!
