Not cool enough to use the heater yet in Texas but I was having problems with the A/C cooling at coldest setting no matter what temp I had set. When I set the heat to max it's still blowing ice cold from the vents. I really don't want to take it to the dealer because I don't have confidence they have enough experience to work on on these cars yet. I did a reset on Sync but no change. I doubt a software upgrade will fix anything.

Maybe a silly question, is the e-Heat turned on?

Sounds like something is going on with your HVAC. My AC blows ice cold here in PHX. Might be worth trying a LVB disconnect before heading to the dealer. Assuming you're comfortable with that.

For some reason I thought e-heat was some sort of radiant heat but now it's obvious it's the main heating element. I did turn on e-heat and it was blowing warmer air than before but not hot at all like a gas car. It's not cool enough here to test it on a cold day but it seems to be working. So glad I don't have to deal with the dealer. Thanks

An internal combustion engine is going to be way better at producing heat than a heat pump.

It will never be able to produce the same tempeature as an ICE on "Hi" setting. ICE vehicles have coolant running at about 95C/200F, which goes directly through the heater core for the cabin. The temperature is high because it is where the ICE is running most efficient. An EV does not need that temperature, and will max out at about 40C/100F since that is about the optimal high temperature for the battery (during charging). This means it cannot by design get the (unnecessary) high cabin air temperature).

Also, all heat generated are on-demand. It will not heat the coolant unless requested (either by cabin requirement or by battery heating requirement), so there will almost never be heat available right away, even after driving for hours, if heat is "just turned on full". It will have to start heating the coolant first, and it will try heat just as much as needed, since heating is really expensive on the range.

I had the same problem the other day. It was the first time I tried heat of any kind since my delivery was in June. But as we start the transition into Hoth until April, it was bound to happen eventually. Windows fogged as I entered some fog and nothing seemed to work to clear it until I too discovered that "Max Defrost" was the only thing that would actually produce heat. Yes, e-heat was switched to on.

I took delivery of my Mach-E in Wisconsin on February 9. On that day, the low was -17F. The high temp the rest of the week was +9F. On every day, my car heated quickly and well whether I was sitting or driving at 75 mph. Don't worry about it having enough heat or heating too slowly. By the way, a few minutes of pre-heat before getting in the car, made it toasty warm.

Despite Ford's efforts to bat away the issues, Eheat is supposed to work as a cabin heater and it is failing on some cars. I have tested and proved this but still ford send me stupid emails with advice such as turn OFF eheat!

They are clowns.

The battery cooling system is supposed to provide heat when you turn off eheat. I have tested that and found it does not suceed certainly for me on an hours car use last week in altrincham weather, no heat produced whatsoever.

ford might as well give up on recycled heat from the battery except in summer weather which is when it wont be of any use in the cabin!

Note, there is definitely a fault on EHeat for some cars where it either never works or some days does not work. Ford are still denying this if reported.
