I guess I spoke too soon. Just heard from my dealer that they won’t have the part until Thursday. So it will be in the shop for basically 2 weeks if it get it back Friday of next week.
As much as I love the car. Might have to just go with the buyback. Seeing way too many issues. Are the rally’s having this issue as well? Isn’t the internals basically the same aside from suspension ?
Yes, it’s my understanding that the rally’s are basically GTs inside.

It wouldn’t surprise me in the least, I just bought a 2024 this week thinking we were out of the woods :(
Me too. I’m bummed. But seeing the ratio of failures to # sold this year, it makes me feel a little better. There’s 3 failures here, 1 GT on Reddit I found, compared to ~51,000 sold in 2024.

Actually makes me feel better as well.

Has the earmarks of a "batch" issue.

I realize they don't manufacture Mach-E's in the insane numbers of the F150. But I've watched a few issues pop up and then go away over the last 4 years of Gen14 F150 manufacturing.

Suddenly a component called the "Exhaust Heat Exchanger" on the F150 Powerboost starts leaking on a few new trucks. The part takes an insane number of weeks to arrive as more and more trucks report the leak. Finally Ford catches up to the supply side need and the repair goes from weeks, to 1 day.

Along with that, new trucks stop reporting the malady and the number of trucks affected drops to an occasional report here or there. And similar to the HVJB, the part number is changed to reflect a revision of some sort.

2020 hindsight reveals that there was a "batch" of defective exhaust heat exchanger spigots that deformed and allowed for the coolant leak.

Hopefully, this sudden spurt of defective brand new 2024 HVJB is just a batch scenario?

Regardless, the REALLY indefencable aspect is the supply chain failure. How can that even happen at this point?

Sorry - When final sales were tallied, the company reports, Americans had driven home 51,745 Mustang Mach-E SUVs in 2024.
But in a 2024 or just in a Mach E?

Because 2023’s were still going with great deals up to a couple months ago.

How do you track this batches? something in the vin or the build month?

I didn't mean to imply that we would be capable of getting access to data that Ford would never share, but rather the anecdotal data of which customers vehicles experienced the malady and when were they manufactured.

Often Ford would release a TSB, or CSP that DID present the official data that lined up with the anecdotal data. Usually in the form of fence dates of manufacturing, as well as VIN listing.

It's early in this sudden reporting of "a few 2024" low mileage Mach-E's experiencing HVJB issues. It's like it popped up out of nowhere. I was just drawing a parallel to other examples of a "batch" problem.

Amazing. I just got off the phone with my BEV specialist at Corporate and she said there is currently still a back order with a negative balance (which is what I thought a back order was…). So, I am looking into the buyback process now.
Crap.
I'm in the same boat..car died last week, HVJB. It's on back order, car at the dealer.
30 day lemon law in Michigan... But id hate to refund the car, I want them to fix it.

Hope you got a loaner? And started an account with the BEV specialists through ford corporate. Even though they couldn’t get me the part right away, they at least made sure the dealer was able to provide a loaner. She also started my buy back process the other day. I’ll see what options are available and go from there.

I did get a loaner (Bronco). Someone from Ford contacted me but he is not from the BEV team...how do I contact them and escalate it ?
If they started the buy back process that doesn't sound promising. I'd hate to lose this car.

Luckily they won’t start the buy back process without your express request. Until then your car will just sit and fester.
The BEV specialist phone number is: 800-392-3673

Ohhh boy is that another story. They were going to give me a rental for 10 days and then…???…. So I said, you are going to keep my car forever (basically) and then tell me to fuck myself after 10 days? They BEV team at corporate had to step in and make sure a loaner was provided. I’d say my request was reasonable. A brand new car with a known error and you can’t fix it? So now I’m driving a brand new bronco sport which is frustrating that they won’t loan out another BEV.

And the best part was the dealership initially told me (before the BEV care team got involved) “after the 10 days you can rent a car from us for $60/day.”
Pure stealership style. Utterly useless.

You are not losing a car, you are getting rid and avoiding a very expensive problem down the line. I wish I could get rid of mine in a buyback, given that it's used price wouldn't nearly cover the loan amount.

Day 10 without my car. No word from the ford ev team since the 13th. ???
Bummer. Similar timeline, it's been about 11 days. But my dealer swapped out my loaner Bronco for a '22 Mach E GT, so I'm happy. I heard from him that the part (HVJB) has been shipped from the supplier...not sure what that means for timeline but hopefully no more than a week or two ?
