Indeed. MyQ on CarPlay would resolve most of these issues. Our garage openers are 2018 vintage and work well with Homelink, but our previous house was spotty.

I wonder what the reasoning is behind not having MyQ CarPlay able?
Because Chamberlain hasn't made a CarPlay compliant MyQ application.

Ford Homelink has a week signal for years what is not new.
MyQ is free you don't have to pay for it, you pay only for video storage for the security system.
The Chamberlaun homekit bridge is still working without proplems, there are just not selling it anymore because customers was not able to set it up like Ford customer give up to setup Homelink.

@RickMachE
myQ ecosystem through third-party apps
.

I had it. My raspberry pie was asking every 5 second about the status of my doors, of curse there don't like that.

I got the Tailwind thing to connect to my garage door (replaced the myQ I had before). Now I can control the door in HomeKit easily. I also have it automatically close the door if I leave it open at night and also open as I approach my garage in my car.

My question was the rationale for not having a CarPlay compliant app. It’s obvious they haven’t done one. @RickMachE provide both the official and real reasons,

There’s also another company that makes a workaround - RATGDO ( rage against the garage door opener).
I went down the RATGDO rabbit hole a while back. I upgraded by wall panel to the digital version. Unfortunately, the RATGDO was flaky. Despite being on the latest software, it would periodically … not work. Not a network issue, since I could ping it and it was showing up in my router. So, I gave up on that path.

I have always had to press the button for 3-4 seconds for it to open.
Mine is funny. I have to be right outside the garage door to close it, often pressing it several times and rotating the visor. But, it opens from beyond my driveway pretty consistently. Weird.

Do you have LED bulbs in the opener?

Why would that matter? And yes, when the old incandescent bulbs burned out, they were replaced, with LEDs of course.

Because sometimes the power supplies are rather noisy and drown out RF signals. Have had this problem in the past. Swapped out the LED bulbs for a different manufacturer and the problem disappeared.

I have a 12 year old Liftmaster garage door opener. Have never had any issues with the Mach E opening it. Decent range too.
