Love the glass roof. Especially on cloudy, rainy, overcast days. The tint adds a very photogenic contrast to the grey skies. I love to look out of it. Unfortunately it isn’t very well seen from the front so I look forward to riding in back sometimes. It doesn’t radiate heat into the passenger compartment at all. Hold a hand 1/4” from it on a 100° day and I can’t feel any heat. My metal roof F-150 should do as well repelling the heat.
I haven’t experienced any increased need to clean. In fact just washing the outside of the car is all I’ve done haven’t had to clean the inside of the roof at all in 21 months of combined ownership (we have 2 MME’s).
My only gripe would be that it should come further forward so the driver can enjoy it too. But maybe then there would be too much sun in my eyes.
True. More for rear passengers. Roomier.

$0 comprehensive deductible for that reason
Good point. I do have a $500 comp. deductible, but fortunately, it was replaced under glass coverage with $0 deductible.

I never buy sunroofs, because the mechanism always breaks. ALWAYS. And the repair, which almost always is outside the 3 year / 36,000 mile warranty, is expensive.

Because this roof doesn't open, I figured it wasn't as big an issue. But there is more wind noise, although once the recall is done I hope that diminishes.

As stated by others, the visibility for the driver and front passenger is next to nothing.

While I don’t seek out sunroofs most of my many (many?) vehicles have had one. Never had a problem with any other than an old BMW that was broken when I bought it.

That said, I find the glass roof a useless feature that most EV manufacturers seem compelled to include because Tesla does it. I had no issues after it sat exposed at work during near 100 degree summer days, so there’s that. However, now that winter is here I absolutely feel cold transmitted through the glass so it’s unexpectedly more of a negative in winter than summer. ?‍♂

I have entertained the thought of flipping the Premium for a GTPE but having the glass roof & it’s price jump forced on me when I choose to add copilot360 is a problem.

Love the glass roof. Feels very open in the car. The kids love it!
Has not been an issue with too much heat or brightness.

Love it and so do the kids!
Came here to say this.
I live near the airport, and the kids love pointing out the planes that they see flying over. They also point out the moon and the stars. I’m jealous! As driver, I don’t get to enjoy it the way they do!

also, it’s remarkably good at blocking heat. No summertime worries here in swampy DC.

Rick, there’s also a separate TSB for glass roof wind noise IIRC. You might look into that one as well when bringing the car in.

So I upgraded my order from Select to Premium. I think the glass roof looks really nice, but I'm wondering what others' experiences are with it.

Does it make it too bright in your car in summer? It says it keeps it cooler in summer, and I'm wondering how that works.

Does it get dirty? Is it annoying to have to clean?

Do you regret getting it, or do you really love it?
Love it!
No, it doesn’t make it “too bright”. It does make the cabin feel light and airy, but not bight, as if you were in blinding sunlight.
The cabin does not get noticeably warmer in the summer because of it. You aren’t getting into an oven, even on a hot summer day (note, I live in the Philadelphia suburbs, out hot summer days are in the mid-90s).
No, it does not get noticeably dirty. When your car is noticeably dirty, it’s time for a wash. From the outside, it looks black.
I really love it!

I’ve never had problems - even with my Lincoln MKZ with the pano (that was a cool roof!)

Thx. I don't match the dates. Plus I had the body shop measure as per that TSB and it is within spec.

I gave my dealer that TSB and asked them to do it after resealing the windshield. But they seemed to think the recall would fix the wind noise so wouldn’t do it. It sounds the same to me. Not terrible, but there’s definitely still some noise.

I love the pano roof. in fact that was a non-negotiable item on my shopping list when I was comparing BEVs before pulling the trigger on the MachE. ( the others were SUV, range, looks, uniqueness, etc)

after having the car for over three months, I doubt I will be able to go back to a solid roof.
