Well, there’s 10 minutes of my life I’ll never get back🙄

I’m sure he and Munro are very clever, and they’re very keen to demonstrate this, but why I’ve watched this video which I’ve been shown when I already have a froot/frunk insert bin with which I’m happy, have no plans to change and have no care whatsoever about how the thing is designed and made is just beyond me🤷🏼‍♂️
Save me the ten minutes. Does it have a drain?

The fact that the Lightning has had an access cover with 2 screws to allow access to the 12v battery from day one, and the Mach-E still doesn’t is crazy work.

Then check the option box for it. You’re an outlier — few people use the frunk
In a vehicle with a large covered and secure cargo area. A frunk makes a lot of sense in a 911 or pickup truck, not a roomy hatchback.
The nano-funk post-2025 borders on useless. There are a lot of people (myself included) who use the frunk regularly. For example: I use mine on Target/grocery runs. The door to my house is directly across from the nose of my car in the garage, making it incredibly easy to carry things inside. When I go into town, I’ll toss valuables, like my laptop in the frunk because it provides a secure storage compartment, the contents of which are not visible to passers-by. When I go to the airport, I usually back into parking spaces. My rollaboard fits conveniently in the frunk so, again, loading my luggage into my frunk from my house is easy (garage door across from frunk), and grabbing my rollaboard out of the frunk and heading on is easy (no going behind the car and squeezing between cars and walls with a rollaboard). Other people will tell you how convenient it is for dirty sports equipment or smelly gym clothes or take-out food. And who can deny that it makes a great impromptu cooler for tailgates 😀

My speculation is that they’re both trying to make money AND measure what the “real” demand/desirability for a frunk is.

There is a third motivation as well: People want a price drop. So Ford and other manufacturers perform some sort of cost cutting, sometimes as a redesign exercise but usually in the form of decontenting. At least they are offering it as a BTO option.🤷‍♂️🐩

I wonder what the figures coming back for dealer ordered cars are how many dealers are ordering it with the frunk.

I've seen a few Rally models without the Rally wing on the car sites, so the dealers decided not to pay the $995 on that piece.

Also wondering if the frunk could be ordered later from the parts department and installed at the dealer or at home.

Given that after the FMC was removed as a standard feature most of the stock 2024 MMEs around here were ordered with the FMC by dealers, I bet a lot of the dealer stock 2026 cars will be ordered with the frunk tub option. 🤔🐩

Take away the frunk add rear door handles.
Have to say they actually fit the new .model nice. Wasn't a fan of the 3rd party handles.

I actually like it better without but at least they did well at making looking nice .

I’d prefer a full-sized frunk, door presenters, and NO door handles. Door handles are stupid. This is the 21st century for goodness sake! After all, how many door handles do they have on the Orville?
